Did John Ryder destroy the air of invincibility that surrounded Callum Smith?

I literally couldn’t see how Smith could lose, he was just easing through the division..

But Ryder beat him in my opinion, despite some unbelievably bad scoring.

Now I do not feel that he is unbeatable, in fact after that fight it’ll be interesting to see who he is matched with if it isn’t a mandatory defence.

Callum Smith did not take John Ryder seriously as he did George Groves and would against Saul Canelo Alvarez.

Callum is also huge for the weight and it is not easy making it for a routine defence against Ryder.

The fight was close and I had it a draw but Ryder looked a lot better than he has before.

Ryder has made himself open to a fight with Canelo after Saunders pulled out.

A fully motivated Callum Smith in the form that he was against George Groves beats Canelo in my opinion. Otherwise a win against Benavidez or Plant would surely get him a fight against Canelo.
