Default David Benavidez... are we watching greatness?

Are we? Fast hands, strong chin, good punch, can box and undefeated and beating top level talent. But there are no threads here about him, but you wanna chime on about an old Manny Pac and an overrated Errol Spence.

    Bigger man George, bigger punch!

Becoming the 1st fighter to stop Anthony Dirrell is impressive.

And he's pretty big and imposing for a 168 fighter but if he fought Calum Smith well he won’t get away with just being big and strong because Smith is even bigger than him.

He seems to focus on brute force and ignorance, which is OK when the opponent is smaller and already seems mentally defeated from the start. I doubt it would work against Callum Smith though, and BJS would dance around pot-shotting him for the full. He wouldn’t be able to do anything except follow Saunders around the ring and missing and I haven't even mentioned Canelo. I think Plant would beat him as well, he's proved he's hungrier than the likes of the Dirrells.

He fights in a similar way to Kelly Pavlik. That straight up and down Frankenstien, little head movement, doesn't really slip punches, slow feet, no special effects style.

He is a problem and I don't see anybody joking with him but when he fights the best fighters they'll make him look average.

I think we are watching a banger willing to go out on his shield. Can't say how long he'll last, but I will be there everytime he fights!

Kid has come a long way just hope he keeps his nose clean. Built like a condor and brimming with confidence there is potential for some very solid match ups at 168. Would love style with Jacobs or Plant but you need some firepower to deter Benavidez or he'll go all Paul Williams XXL version on you in a hurry. Lets his defense slip and ultimately have to think it'll catch up.
