Ortiz slowed a little that round. Ortiz is very good for his age though. Easily winning the fight.

Reiss stops the fight right at the end of the 7th. I actually thought they should have stopped it a bit sooner. Vargas was taking so much punishment
Heart of Vargas is seriously outrunning his flesh here. No probs with the stop Ortiz downshifted and went full buzzsaw
Ortiz’ last 4 fights have all been against solid opposition. It’s time for him to move up to a real contender. I don’t think he’s ready for a Crawford or Spence, but I think he could possibly beat D. Garcia and Thurman. Maybe even Porter. The issue is that he fights for GBP. I’m not sure which fights are realistic for him.
It's all over social media today. Being lauded as something special when in actual fact it was fucking disgusting. I bang on about this all the time but 'boxing' will come out in force and condemn a drug cheat, rightly so of course but then will do something like this. How many people were complicit in allowing that gross mismatch to happen. How many people thought that was OK.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
you know vergil ortiz really wants to hurt guys because all his punches have follow through.
Finally ran across that today. Good to hear Mora and the other knob call out the match making on air, then again hindsight is 20-20 . Glad it's getting backlash for bigger picture of safety reasons and CSAC and DAZN ripped for even letting it happen. Once Estradas original opponent dropped out they should have just scrapped it all together. Crazy thing is Adkins pocketed almost half the purse, 10k, that Samuel Vargas did for the prolonged shredding he stood up to in a main event.
Ortiz impresses me more with each outing. His bodywork will be a big benefit going forward. I can see a move to 154 in the near future.
