"Hurricane Iota strengthens to Category 5 storm as it nears Central America landfall"
Damn...
In what is already a record-breaking year (2005 held the previous record for most active year with named storms)... now there's monster hurricane Iota bearing down on Nicaragua and Honduras... in the same path taken by a previous hurricane not long ago. Shades of the Louisiana Gulf Coast, which got battered by more than just one hurricane this season.
Gotta feel bad for these people, though. They're not in "Hurricane Alley" as we are down in Puerto Rico... so this is a relative rarity for them. Sustained winds of 160 mph and gusts of up to 190 mph. That's some scary shit right there.
I normally would've put this on the Nasty Weather thread, but thought it deserved its own.
