Default Canelo v Benavidez would NEVER happen!

I bet Canelo never makes this fight. lolol.... stylistically, it would be a nightmare for him as I think Benavidez beats him and takes back his old title.

    What say you?

I thought Canelo would lose to Callum Smith who would be too tall, rangy and big for Alvarez.

I think Benavidez is possibly the best challenger at 168, but it would be a massive step up in class for him, would be nice to see him fight close to that level first. Most of the guys Canelo has fought for years are the ones people liked to say he never would, so I think that narrative gets a little bit ridiculous, but hey.

I think hell may be freezing over because I'll say it..Canelo is only getting better by the looks of it. His foundation is more sturdy and he's found a brutal but subtle pressure offense that is very sapping. I was very high on Benavidez but now have resettled to a wait and see mindset. Namely if he can find the discipline to avoid future ring suspensions and not giving up a title because he cannot be bothered to make weight. Love his style and long mix he has with his offense but I'm not even sure he makes 168 anymore. Below 175 I think Benavidez style, Golovkin and Charlo can muster a threat to Canelo but Benavidez has juuust a little steading to do imo before Canelo jumps on it. And if we've learned one thing it's that you better have some hardware to bring to the table to make Canelos ears perk up.
