Game effort from Frampton, as always. Nothing to be ashamed of, but at the end of the day he was just giving away too much. Props to Herring, he showed impressive ring craft.

Herring stops Frampton landing a vicious uppercut and then his corner throwing in the towel in the 6th.

Herring did very well using the jab and that southpaw left uppercut.

Carl Frampton announces his retirement. That was a good fight and very gracious fighters the both of them.

That was a perfect post fight interview from Frampton, very dignified and I love the way he diverted the interviewer to the winner. Top Man, best of luck in his retirement.

We need more of that, very genuine from two class acts.

He has always been heavy for his height, and the reach and height difference here was astonishing. A weight too far for him, I think.

Frampton has been a really good fighter, but he has always preferred his opponents to come towards him. He is essentially a counterpuncher, but you can’t do that when you are giving away so much reach.

Herring fought really well, controlled the distance, kept Frampton off him and hurt him often. I just thought that Frampton never managed to adjust his style to being a short pressure fighter and ran out of ideas really. His trainer has a few questions to answer about what exactly the game plan was?

Golovkin was the best I’ve seen at using footwork to keep your opponent under constant tremendous pressure, Carl ended up being the one backing off and circling around. It all just went wrong really.

Carls foot has been of the gas since he didn't agree with Mcguigan's training regime.

He recently said in a podcast that basically, he believed the Mcguigan's trained him too hard, and that might lead to an overall short career as part of the argument about their dispute.

Just watched it. Too tough for me to see how good Herring is- looked like he is in a different weight division than Frampton. Sometimes size does matter, this looks like a clear example.

Couldn't agree with you more and the fact that he looked beyond such a difficult adversary to retirement in Belfast? There have been quite a few fighters thinking retirement and becoming retired in their next important fight.

Much prefer the respect and diginity of the likes of these two post fight, than any shit talk, ego, and goading you often get from guys post fight.

Herring has made a fan of me, and Frampton can go into retirement proud of what he achieved in the sport.

Yes, I agree ..... a bit like my gargantuan todger. I reckon it would struggle to make bantamweight on it's own.
