Anyone impressed with Campbell Hatton?
I thought he looks terrible.
Really showed that he's had hardly any amateur experience, there's loads of big problems with his style and I can't see him getting past British title level and I'm not even sure he can do that.
Whyte was just over enthusiastic trying to finish Povetkin who was wobbling in the first round from no real big shot.
When Whyte got back to his boxing and looked composed he hurt and finished off Povetkin in good style.
Whyte is a far better boxer than Wilder who is technically terrible for a former heavyweight champion.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Whyte for me is still just something of a glorified slugger. Has power to trouble anyone and always poses a danger, but I don't rate his actual boxing ability.
He could be in some intruiging fights though: Wilder, Ortiz and Ruiz could all be pretty fun.
Joyce could be interesting if not all that exciting....
Usyk & Fury outbox him.
Not interested in AJ knocking him out again.
Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
Save for one moment of fortune over what is it 8 rounds? Povetkin has been beaten up for 7 of them. This went down exactly as expected, Whyte bashing him up just like he did in the first fight. Povetkin got older, the phantom punch from fight one was nowhere to be seen and in no way should it have been a cause to raise expectation on Povetkin or rubbish Whyte. Funnily enough Povetkin looked worse than expected and Whyte looked worse in victory than he did in defeat. funny old game.
I think anything other than a well earned retirement for Povetkin would be madness, he's done. Whyte only really has Wilder or Ruiz left to fight assuming he wont get a sniff of Joshua or Fury for the foreseeable. Whyte Wilder would be good.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
Charley Burley
Whyte reminds me a lot of Hasim Rahman as a fighter, big strong tough guy with underrated boxing skills and tons of physicality.... and some limitations too.
If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why are animals made of meat ?
Povetkin started wobbling all over the place, off the ropes, like he was drunk (he wasn't, was he?), at 40 seconds into rd. 1, and i didn't see Whyte hit him with anything at that point, unless it was the wind from Whyte's missed punch, tho i will allow the possibility that i missed a glancing punch that was not visible on the screen. Pov was even wobbling in his ring walk. I think something was badly wrong with him. He was not normal and healthy. If he was still sick from Covid why did they let him fight? Was there financial pressure to let the show go on, contracts with the venue, DAZN contract, tickets sold, etc?

“Something was wrong” with Alexander Povetkin in Dillian Whyte rematch"
"According to some, Alexander Povetkin was ‘staggering to the ring’ as if he’d drunk ‘several bottles of vodka’ as Dillian Whyte exacted revenge. Whyte bludgeoned the Russian in four rounds, but WBN noticed something was off with the WBC interim champion as he walked to the ring. We weren’t the only ones. Eyes glazed and looking disinterested, Povetkin was never at the races. A bit like Andy Ruiz Jr. wasn’t when he fought Anthony Joshua in his second helping. Promoter Lou DiBella was one of the more high-profile boxing figures to notice this as Whyte took control and battered Povetkin until a fourth-round finish.
DiBella said: “Povetkin seemed f’d up (even) walking into the ring, no? Looked gassed during the entrance.” Fans also gave their view as Whyte completely dominated without a proper challenge coming back to him..."
I can't post the link here but above is from an article on Worldboxingnews dot net
I've watched round one over and over and i still can't see Povetkin getting hit at 40 seconds into the first round when he went wobbling off the ropes. I wanted to see how he looked doing his ring walk but DAZN does not have that in their replay. Could the Vityaz man have taken a dive? No, I don't think so. I think he was ill.

"Not available in your country" (US) - but I get the fight fine on DAZN, but they start it when the fight starts so no ringwalk. I can do some tricks and pick up your blocked one but that wld just be to see the ringwalk, unless u r getting different fight camera angles there. So what do u see at 40 seconds? I think he was so sick he could hardly stand up and couldn't defend himself. It was an ugly thing to watch.

Provetkin didnt look himself, he looked all but shot in the previous fight tho
would the covid have affected him, i dunno, ive had it and a week of feeling a bit tired and all was fine (i wasnt fighting at the top level a few weeks after tho mind you)
and it wasnt that long ago provetkin fought michael hunter and i thought he won fairly clearly, hunter got away with murder
so my conclusion is, Provetkin is on the slide and Whyte is a top end Heavyweight and it is showed
Officially the only saddo who has had a girlfriend
