I think Ruiz is a waste of space and just got lucky. He will never achieve anything again remotely close to a title and should retire.
That's a tad harsh I'd say. Despite his size he has fast hands, enough power to cause trouble and decent boxing skills and fundamentals.

Of course the question is his hunger to get in the best shape he can and the desire to find a way back to the top. Does he have it in him now that he isn't necesarily fighting for the future financial security of his family.

I agree with Master. He did get lucky to get the fight. Maybe not a waste of space, but definately wasted his chance to prove it wasn't a lucky win. While I jokingly stated drugs, women is the results of partying over training, it makes it all the more worse to know, drugs, women and clubs didn't contribute to his lack of focus.

Cheese pizza was his downfall, wow. I've seen more stuff stacked on pizza & it didnt cause the weight gain, he got. Just look at the way he stares at that slice of pizza, looks like he's about to orgasm.

If AJ doesn't give him another fight Fury doesn't -there is no HW that can give him that big stage with a potential mil-PPV type of chance. Most he can get IMO from here on out is a shot a title from a B-sider.

He looks like he's in good shape which aesthetically at least is a good sign, shows he's putting in work. Will it make a difference? The easy answer is yes, better shape, better fighter. We won't actually know until he fights. He might be the kind that benefits from a layer of fat, that's always been his natural state.

I like that he's with Reynoso. I've said before I like what I see from the footage of him working with his fighters. So much training looks generic but whenever I see him working there always appears to be a bit more method to what they are doing. Assimilating what will actually happen in the fight. I'm not suggesting that other people don't do that, but when I see his fighters do it, it all seems to make sense.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough

I agree that he can regain focus. Even if he brings a better version than we've ever seen- it won't ever be on a world stage like Joshua gave him. He might even continue to win looking like a fat cow, but he will NEVER be the cashcow of HW's.

Ruiz v Wilder is a heavy handed speed spectacle needing to happen. That's a fun fight! But he'll tank the current Arreola in some ironic looking in the mirror match up. For a champion door crasher just one fight removed they should aim higher.

It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.
