Anthony Yarde v Alex Theran

Anthony Yarde will be looking to rebuild his career again when he takes on Alex Theran this weekend.

Yarde lost to Sergey Kovalev in August 2019 and failed in his shot at the WBO light heavyweight title.

He then beat Dec Spelman and Diego Jair Ramirez – in a Spanish nightclub – but came unstuck again last time out.

Yarde faced Lyndown Arthur for the vacant WBO Inter-Continental light-heavyweight title but suffered a split decision defeat.

Now, he’ll need to bounce back again when he faces 23 and five fighter Theran on the undercard to Akeem Ennis Brown v Sam Maxwell this Saturday.

This 10-round light-heavyweight bout will take place on Saturday, August 28 and is being held at the Utilita Arena Birmingham.

It is on the undercard to Akeem Ennis Brown v Sam Maxwell.

The ring walks for Yarde v Theran are expected from 9pm UK time but that will depend on the other fights.

The fight will be shown on BT Sport 1 with coverage starting at 7:30pm.
