Tyrone McKenna accuses Regis Prograis of running scared.

Tyrone McKenna believes Regis Prograis is running scared after the two fighters squared up on Twitter.

MTK have been trying to tee up a clash between the Belfast boxer and former WBA World super-lightweight champion Prograis, whose only defeat to date came against Josh Taylor.

The pair have been indulging in some verbal sparring on social media, but the beef between the pair appeared to cool - until now.

Asked what the latest was, McKenna told iFLTV: "I think he is s******* himself.

"I've called him out and said I want to fight him and he's gone quiet all of a sudden.

"I haven't heard Regis Prograis being this quiet in all my life. I must be the most avoided 140-pounder in the division.

"I got a phone call from MTK saying they were trying to make this fight happen and I was 100 per cent up for it.

"Nothing was said on the internet and then it died off, and I didn't think it would happen.

"So I just said f*** it, I will make it happen myself. So I started giving him s*** on Twitter and he bit back, and we started having a bit of an argument.

"It is still a possibility, but he has gone quiet. Realistically I'd batter him. I would love it to happen, and he says he wants it to happen.

"So why can't it happen?"

McKenna added: "I like to roll the dice and take chances in my career. I always have.

"Yes, Regis Prograis is an unbelievable fighter but I believe he is too small and I think with my work rate and boxing IQ I would handle him."

Asked if he had a final message for Prograis, McKenna said: "Get the f****** contract and stop s******* yourself."

Prograis deserves better from promotion. Is this how they're making fights now get that twatter feud all built up. He may run laps, run after his dog if it gets out of the house, run away from N.O after Katrina hit but trust me he isn't running from a Tyrone McKenna . Probably has no idea who he is.
