Default Tyson Fury meets Oleksandr Uayk

Watch moment Tyson Fury is photobombed by undisputed heavyweight title rival Oleksandr Usyk before pair embrace.

OLEKSANDR USYK hilariously photobombed Tyson Fury with both men in the audience for Vasily Lomachenko's bout with Richard Commey in New York on Sunday.

They came face-to-face at Madison Square Garden after Fury recently told Usyk 'I am coming' while on the phone to his heavyweight rival.

At first though Fury, 33, didn't realise Usyk, 34, was behind him as he unknowingly smiled alongside promoter Bob Arum.

The Ukrainian flexed his muscles behind the Gypsy King, before quickly ducking out of shot.

Fury then spun round and clocked Anthony Joshua's conquerer.

The duo shared a high-five before embracing and exchanging a few words.

Fury, having knocked out Deontay Wilder in October, previously revealed he wanted to fight Usyk for the undisputed crown.

But with Joshua already contracted to a rematch with the Ukrainian, he would have needed a fee to step aside.

Tentative talks to do so had started, until the WBC officially ordered Fury to defend his title against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte.

Fury's promoters Arum and Frank Warren have now started negotiations with Whyte, which will end any hope of a unification bout next.

Arum had previously revealed that a fight between Fury and Usyk could take place in Saudi Arabia in March.

Those plans have now been shelved though with Fury instructed to fight Whyte next.

A bout between the British pair is expected for February or March 2022.

It gives the Gypsy King the perfect chance to fight in the UK for the first time since 2018, having boxed his last five fights in America.

Oleksandr Usyk open to dropping back to cruiserweight to fight Canelo Alvarez

Usyk is set to rematch Anthony Joshua is spring of next year, but the former cruiserweight king would be open to returning to his old weight class to face Alvarez

Oleksandr Usyk would drop to cruiserweight for a fight with Canelo Alvarez, but only if he could still hold on to his heavyweight titles.

Usyk won his four heavyweight titles in September after outpointing Anthony Joshua in London.

Joshua activated his rematch clause after the loss with a second fight between the pair likely to take price in spring, although the rematch is not yet official.

Talk of a fight between former undisputed champion Usyk and Alvarez have come after the Mexican recently announced his move up to the division.

Alvarez - who started his career at 140lb - is expected to face WBC champion Ilunga Makabu next, with the pair recently facing off at the WBC convention.

And Usyk told Boxing Insider of a fight with Alvarez: "Yes, I can fight him at cruiserweight. But with only one thing – I keep my belts at heavyweight,"

"Then I go back to cruiserweight and fight him and then I come back to heavyweight."

Usyk won the undisputed cruiserweight titles in 2018 and defended them once before moving up to heavyweight the following year.

It took the Ukrainian just two fights at his new weight class to get a shot at Joshua, winning the titles in his third outing.

Alvarez became the first-ever super middleweight undisputed champion last month when he added the final belt to his collection by knocking out Caleb Plant.

The 31-year-old is unbeaten in his last 16 fights and has stopped the likes of Plant, Sergey Kovalev and Billy Joe Saunders during that run.

If the pair were to fight, Alvarez - who is 5'7" - would have a huge size disadvantage against Usyk, who stands at 6'3".

Usyk has also been linked to a fight with fellow heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, as he urged 'AJ' to step aside from the rematch to force an undisputed title fight.

But Fury has since been forced to defend his WBC title against mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte next.

Usyk and Fury were both ringside for Vasyl Lomachenko's fight against Richard Commey this past weekend, with the pair sizing each other up and posing for pictures.

But despite talks of a "step aside" deal, Fury's promoter Bob Arum said Fury's planned fight with Whyte should go ahead.

“Let Joshua fight Usyk again. He has a contract to do that and let Dillian Whyte fight Tyson Fury," he told Boxing Social.

"Whoever wins those two fights then fights for all the belts. I mean, it’s just a few months until it’s sorted out.

"Let’s stop doing what really is tortuous to get step asides and all of that stuff. It becomes so complicated, and it’s a convoluted way of doing."
