Good thing that fifty went to Captains and Korean bbq . Great precision execution from Beterbiev. Great showing.

Bring on Bivol for all the marbles. Zurdo can wait in line

He probably would be wise to ask for step a side money first, if not accepted, then fake the injury.

Anybody that had Smith to win this fight was on drugs. lol....

Beterbeiv v Bivol was a fight we wanted to see for two years now. Canelo just tried to jump in and disrupt all of that. Glad Bivol beat him.

Beterbiev vs Bivol, long overdue, make it happen. Pumped for that.

Beterbiev is a beast, no doubt. But I think Bivol would’ve watched and found some encouraging things. He won’t have to look very far for Beterbiev, he was fairly easy to hit, but if he gets you first…….good night!
Smith gambled by turning into a slugfest, and I applaud that. But it was definitely the wrong choice.
Beterbiev v Bivol for all the marbles would be epic.

Beterbiev is a monster- physically strong, hard puncher, great punch selection, and relentless. That being said, Smith was made for him and Bivol is a different animal. Not saying Beterbiev can’t win or is an underdog, just saying it is a 50/50 fight and people may tend to overestimate Beterbiev because he looked so devastating against the tailor made Smith.

Beterbiev is like a less polished but larger version of GGG- great offense with deceptive defense (mainly parrying and smothering punches), but I agree that he will walk into Bivol’s shots. Bivol will be more mobile, more intelligent, and will land consistently harder shots than smith did (Bivol punches straighter and more accurately than smith). Beterbiev will bring that pressure throughout, and I’m really interested to see if Bivol can weather the storm or if he will break down late in the fight. If I had to choose a winner I would choose Bivol- only because I think boxers usually win these types of match ups more often.

Canelo should forget about anything north of 168. He was able to pick off a timid, exposed, weak zebra in Kovalev and get his 175-pound trinket.

At some point he was even eyeing gimpy zebras at cruiserweight.

    Hopefully that's all past history.

Bivol embarrassed him... and Beterbiev would bury him.

i'd like to see canelo take the dmitry rematch, i'd also like to see canelo take on artur. i might have to reassess my original pick on that when if the fight happens. you can have your opinion on sergey but canelo took on a massive challenge in dmitry. i don't see anything embarrassing about losing to a really good fighter

Briton Anthony Yarde is in line to fight the winner of Artur Beterbiev v Joe Smith later this year.

Yarde, 30, will be ringside for the light heavyweight unification match for the IBF, WBC and WBO belts on Saturday in New York.

Promoter Frank Warren says he has been in talks with Top Rank's Bob Arum, who promotes Beterbiev and Smith.

"It's more or less agreed - we're looking to fight the winner in October in London," Warren told BBC Sport.

"Bob and I have agreed we'll do the fight, but they're going to be ordered [to fight Yarde] anyway. It will be a great fight, whoever wins."

Russia's Beterbiev is the WBC and IBF champion, while American Smith holds the WBO belt. Yarde is the number one ranked contender to Smith's WBO title.

Beterbiev, 37, is undefeated with a perfect knockout ratio in 17 fights, while 32-year-old Smith has suffered three losses, including a 2019 defeat by WBA champion Dmitry Bivol.

Yarde has 22 wins and two losses in 24 fights. His most recent win was over Lyndon Arthur in December when he avenged his 2020 defeat by his British rival with a decisive knockout.

A fight against Beterbiev or Smith would be the second world title fight of Yarde's career. He lost his first shot at a world title against then WBO champion Sergey Kovalev in 2019.

Yarde will ask for a 95-5 split in his favor and then say... oh well... I tried to make the fight.

Yard was outlasted by an aged kovalev, beterbiev looked monsterous last fight... If he takes on beterbiev he's brave and maybe it would only be a few minutes of suffering in the ring..

I wonder how beterbiev v kovalev would have played out, kovalev in his Prime obviously. Beterbiev is looking so powerful right now but does he have the skills to get to Krusher Kovalev without being splatted? Kovalev at his best was a monster too and a pretty good boxer( he should have a win v ward). Although i think beterbiev beat up kovalev in their amateur days. Shame it never happened.
