Usyk has skills.

Only one that beats him is Fury.

Unless AJ can turn this into a war like Chisora and KO Usyk before 6 rounds.

Ignoring colour and nationality, Usyk has the skills to dominate the heavyweight division for years (post Fury).

I can't see him staying in Oxnard very long. Long enough to lose the rematch though.

ANTHONY JOSHUA is close to splitting from Sky Sports and signing a mega-money deal with streaming app DAZN.

The 32-year-old former heavyweight world champ has been with the broadcasters for all of his professional career.

But that contract expired after the September defeat to 35-year-old Ukraine genius Oleksandr Usyk in September.

SunSport understands he has been the subject of a bidding war since.

In 2021, London-based DAZN poached Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn away from Sky with a £100million war chest.

Joshua’s UK rights were not part of that package.

However, DAZN do show his fights elsewhere around the world.

Watford’s AJ signed a life-long deal with Matchroom one week before the points loss of his WBA, IBF and WBO titles against Usyk last year.

And the rematch targeted for August in Saudi Arabia will be his first of his next potential contract.

Defeat for Joshua will significantly harm his brand and reputation and drop him well out of the world title picture.

But a comeback victory will make him once again one of the biggest names in global sport and be a huge coup for DAZN.

Sky Sports were frontrunners to secure his signature again up until a couple of weeks ago when DAZN felt the race was lost.

But a sudden swing has now put the Len Blavatnik-owned app in the driving seat and an announcement could come as early as next week.

Frankly, unless the AJ does something radically different than last time, Usyk will just do it again. Did AJ do something radically different against Ruiz the 2nd time round? Well yes, you could say that, so there's always that possibility. But Ruiz standing right in front of him gave him that option to just box and be cautious. Usyk is a whole 'nudda can o worms.

Tyson Fury has played down the impact that Robert Garcia will have as Anthony Joshua’s new coach, saying the American will not help “AJ” to beat Oleksandr Usyk this summer.

Joshua suffered a comprehensive decision defeat by Usyk last September, losing the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO heavyweight titles to the unbeaten Ukrainian in London.

Joshua is set for a rematch with Usyk this August, and the Briton has recruited Garcia to work alongside Angel Fernandez, while the 32-year-old’s long-time trainer Rob McCracken has stepped away from the camp.

“Unless Anthony Joshua gets his a** up to Morecambe and lets me train him for this fight, Robert Garcia and 10 men like him will not make him beat Usyk,” Fury said in an interview on Queensberry Promotions’ YouTube channel.

“Because: One, they don’t know him; two, they don’t know what he’s got in his engine; and three, he’s not a little Mexican who can go toe to toe with someone for 15 rounds. If he gets on Usyk from Round 1 and tries to push and be aggressive, he’ll be gassed out after four rounds and get stopped in seven.

“But if he comes to Morecambe Bay and I teach him how to be a real fighting man for 12 rounds and how to deal with these little middleweight people, then he will get a win. But other than that, I see him getting beat again. Two in a row, baby, and it’s over.

“But if he wants to resurrect his career, please come up to the man who’s never lost a fight in his life, been undefeated for 13 years and retired as only the second heavyweight in history to be on top of the game – won every belt in history there is to win.”

Joshua’s only previous defeat as a professional came in June 2019, when he was knocked out by Andy Ruiz Jr at Madison Square Garden in New York City. At the end of that year, AJ avenged the loss by outpointing the Mexican-American to regain the heavyweight belts that he had lost to him in their first fight – and would later drop to Usyk.

When asked whether Usyk – the only undisputed cruiserweight champion of the four-belt era, prior to his move up to heavyweight – could knock out Joshua, Fury said: “It all goes on what Robert Garcia’s gameplan is and how quick he wants [Joshua] to get chinned.

“To have a style of keep coming forward and putting pressure on somebody, when you’re a big man like he is and like I am, you need to have two V12 engines. You need to be able to take punches as well, and you need to have b***s like King Kong. None of them three of the above does he have.

“Other than that, he’s got to have the best gameplan ever. The way I see him doing it, if he trains with [Garcia], is he might hit him with a big punch – which he didn’t last time – and try and knock him out that way.

“Honestly if he goes on the front foot and tries to be aggressive and all that with Usyk, I think he’ll get stopped inside eight rounds, and I mean that.”

Fury knocked out Dillian Whyte in April to retain the WBC heavyweight title in an all-British bout at London’s Wembley Stadium.

Fury had vowed not to fight again after that contest, but the 33-year-old has now opened the door to a clash with the winner of Joshua-Usyk 2.

Always respect your opinion, except about Floyd, but think AJ can win this rematch with the a change of tactics to use his size, strength and be far more aggressive.

Tyson Fury has been retired for seven weeks and admits nothing has changed since calling time from the sport.

Fury retained his WBC heavyweight title by defeating Dillian Whyte inside six rounds in April at Wembley Stadium.

The 33-year-old told talkSPORT that there is no truth in rumours circulating about a return to the ring for £200m against the winner of Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

"Even that £200million report today, that didn't even tempt me," said Fury.
"That would be like half of what I would want to come out of retirement. I'd probably want half a billi to come out of retirement.

"Usyk hasn't [been beaten], but that's a middleweight coming up from cruiserweight to heavyweight, none of my interest at all. "If it's half a billi, then I won't say no, will I? "What you've gotta do is go and get half a billi, and then the Gypsy King will come out and solve all his problems for him," Fury said about a possible comeback. "Because if AJ gets beat again off Usyk, then there's only gonna be one man to redeem this great fighting nation of the United Kingdom and he goes by the name of Tyson Fury. "I can solve all the problems, the embarrassment, all that stuff that's gonna happen. "One call, but it's gonna cost half a bill. 500 million pounds or dollars, I don't care, as long as it's half a billi."
