can we add deontay to the wbc nonsense? how is he still ranked number one in their heavyweight rankings after back to back knockout loses & not having won a fight in over two & a half years?

He's #1 in the WBC, and nowhere to be found in the top ten of the other three major orgs. Yep... it's the Worthless Boxing Council.

adrien broner v omar figuerao was going to be for the wbc's silver super lightweight title, adrien hasn't fought at one forty since the mickey garcia loss in two thousand seventeen & has been inactive for a year & a half. the closest omar has been to one forty was the ricky burns fight in two thousand fifteen & omar has been inactive for over a year. i'm surprised that fight was made for one forty in the first place

the wbc gave tyson fury until the twenty sixth of august to confirm his retirement. they have now extended that deadline until september second.

They will keep extending until he decides to agree to have the unification fight.

Oh hell... that's nothing. They've got Hughie Fury 3rd.

The Ring ranks Whyte 4th as well, and BoxRec ranks him 5th. Of the other alphabet orgs, the WBC has him 7th. The IBF and the WBO don't have him ranked in their top 10 at all.

I think this is how they do their rankings at the WBC and WBA...

with talk of a daniel dubois v dillian whyte fight of course the wba needed to rank dillian. the ibf has dillian ranked eleventh

it's a good thing the wba's new featherweight ratings now have mauricio lara at twelve. mauricio previously unranked had already been approved to face fight leigh woods. nothing new to see them break their own rules, at least this time it resulted in a good fight

Worse is they had him ranked just last month and then dropped him . Now they elevate him again in the span of weeks . Bought and paid for baby.

Yeah, that fight certainly seems to be snake-bitten. To make matters more complicated, McWilliams had already said he would retire following the fight. He IS 36 years old, which is slightly ancient for the lighter weights.

Oh well... would've been a great fight.

    On another note.....

    https://www.essentiallysports.com/bo...r-a-wbc-title/

"What Will Happen to Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol After Mauricio Sulaiman’s Decision to Ban Russian Boxers From Competing for a WBC Title?"

    Of course.

Wonder what took him so long...

Gee, wait... does this pave the way for Ginger to grab another 175-lb trinket now that both Beterbiev and Bivol will be out of the WBC picture? (fake shock)

Gotta hand it to the W(e) B(low) C(anelo) president, Mexian Mafia head Mauricio Sulaiman.

Since it's painfully obvious Ginger has NO business in the ring with either Bivol OR Beterbiev (who between them hold all the belts)... ol' Suli baby has suddenly developed (months after the conflict began) a sense of civil justice and has decided to remove both Bivol and Beterbiev from their rankings. Making it easy for "you-know-who" to come waltzing in. Well... he might have to beat the crap out of Callum Smith again... but what the hell.

    Good shet.

i hope that callum smith confirmed as wbc mandatory doesn't get in the way of a potential artur v dmitry fight

They've stumbled upon their money collecting soapbox and apparently declared all Russian boxers who are ranked will be dropped immediately . Not as if this couldn't happen 6 months ago so while 'I get it' I'm not really with it. It's an individual sport like no other and seems misdirected to cast a few dozen careers into the shitter with no regard and directly impacting livelihoods. I can see if a fighter hits the ring spouting propaganda boosting up the invasion..?..yeh fook those guys. But a professional fighter making a living absent of Government sponsorship ?! should be allowed to do so and not penalized. The wbc standing on principle and morality is a bit laughable. Wonder if we did this after 9/11 with Saudi Arabia. It's just an endless slippy slide of guilt by Nationality.
