Safe to say there's work to be done with Makhmudov. Turned into a decent enough fight with Makhmudov scoring a flash/take a knee KD in the 1st and another KD in the 7th. In between though Takam found his loopy high hooks landing with regularity as Makhmudov got away from his jab and inactive late on. Never hurt but his upper body really remains stationary, and he was showing a real wide stance in the late rounds. Not exactly hard to miss with shots let's say . Still though credit to Takam he showed up once again and maintained the forward pressure all ten rounds for the most part. With 14 starts it's easy to say well it's early but we have to remember he's 33. But this turned into one of those where he probably learned more over ten than in his last couple of fights. And no biggie seeing a "ko streak" go by the wayside. Those really seem to set a guy up for disappointment when opponents don't just fall over. Interesting to see where Top Rank goes with him.
