Default Teofimo Lopez v Pedro Campa ESPN

Half tempted to call this the Xander Zayas show as he's in the co main taking on Elias Espada 22-4 and it's becoming apparent Zayas is one of the most promising prospects out there. Set for 8 rounds and think he's more than ready for a set 10 at this point but more about time restraints.

Teo in the main event attempting to get himself and career back on track after having it all cave in last year. This time moving to 140 fighting one Pedro Campa who comes in with a shiny 34-1-1 record at jr welter and down in Mexico. Don't recall seeing him but let's hope his numbers are more than just fluff. Early prelims on espn+ and main on regular espn.

Teo has quickly turned into a fighter I really don’t like. His disrespect for all the top guys at 135 and blatant ducking. This week he said the press only talks about Devin Haney because he pays them when asked if he would fight Haney. Might be the dumbest of his long string of nonsensical conspiracy theories explaining why he shouldn’t fight top guys.

I want to watch this card but it’s on a commercial break so I turn to the UFC and they’re fighting. So I watch. When they go to a break after 5 minutes the boxing is on a commercial break. Until I turn back to UFC for 5 minutes. Come back to boxing, commercials.

That’s one area where boxing is really losing out. And frankly, competitive fights. UFC makes a lot of obvious fights, the last 3 or 4 I barely ever get wrong. But the mid cards are competitive. Where as the mid card in boxing you know who is there to build their name and experience and who is there to lose.

I think boxing needs to really start looking about how it can maintain its position long term. It has been relegated to a fringe sport already. The next step down is a precarious one

two threads for this fight? should be blowouts for both teo & xander, hopefully both guys can step up next out
It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it.

This Duke Ragan kid is very talented but he has a lot to develop to be as good as he thinks he is. Learning some respect would do him well. Saying everyone at 126 is trash just reeks to me of a kid that won’t reach their potential

Card is littered with talented guys who aren’t as good as they think. Early in their careers though, time to figure it out

It's interesting how they mesh the ufc and boxing. Do you have the espn+ app? Think I pay about 6 bucks a month. I have the ufc card on regular tv and espn+ so able to catch all prelims for Teo card. But rule #1 for me still..boxing first . If no card then whatever mma. Both however are getting ridiculous with ppv increases.

Evening chaps. I'm hoping the main event is better than I'm expecting.

This Victor Toney is showing young Troy Isley some things. They joked about Toney being related to Lights Out and he's got some craftiness. Isley looking pretty basic, in the pre fight he says he's underrated. Why is any guy with just 6 starts under his belt talking about being "underrated".

Ol Patricia Jarman with 60-54 for Isley . Well I must have missed that fight.

Trying to think back and I know we watched it but wasn't the Montoya 'loss' to Flores Jr just an absolute sham? Think maybe they should rearrange some of these cards. Feels a little over packed and some of these need to be full 10'ers. Missed a chunk of this Montoya v Cortes now into the 5th. But Tim Bradley is drawling on like he's been puffin out .

What is Tony Weeks doing tonight. Montoya catches Cortes and rocks him 6th but Tony thinks we need to go wrap tape that isn't a problem.

Montoya steady coming in last round and doing the better physical work for me in that one. Cortes with the early hand raised celebration as round closes. Why do I feel we're going to see another shut out on cards.
