Whyte landing some hard punches to the body of Franklin with his cross arm defence in the 3rd round.

Whyte a bit puzzled middle of ring there in 4th. Franklin has hustle. The punches always come together but nothing devastating. Like Franklin in 4th, 2-2 even up

Both slowed down in the 4th round and not much in that round.

Whyte needs to pick up the pace and show he is on a different level to Franklin.

Franklin not hurting him but he's doing the work, very active. Whyte warned for LB. Gets Franklin to ropes and rips hard to body and locks arm on ropes to hold up . Franklin throws right back and spins him. I dunno, announce making it sound like Franklin is completely gassed. Thought he edged the 5th really.

Whyte getting too desperate in the 5th and swinging wildly. Mcgirt telling him to calm down and get back to his jab.

Whyte bringing the uppercut in 6th but again Franklin with the volume and working Whyte over just a bit end of round. Whyte huffing a little and his punches are coming in singles. Have Franklin 4-2. Whyte needs to wake up

Franklin not backing down and taking the fight to Whyte in the 6th. Dillian smiling but he is worried.

Nice stick working for Whyte early 7th. Oh best combo of fight for him mid round ends with uppercut! Whyte more fire to Franklins smoke that round and he needs them consistently now. 4-3 Franklin. These levels have yet to seperate

Whyte put in a huge effort in the 7th but Franklin trying to steal the round with a late burst.

Mcgirt not happy and want Whyte to stick with the jab and not load up.

Oh nice upper from Franklin early 8th now on the front foot. Whyte doing the Foreman-Bert Cooper arm bar defense, but he looks stuck in place not punching off of it. Whyte opening up late round and really digging into body, hard pressure may have just edged that round back. 4-4..these scores will (should) be all over the place if it goes distance.

On paper a meh fight but tell you what it's all ebb and flow. Both taking turns per their strengths

Whyte struggling with Franklin and can not deter him but still landing the better punches in 8th round.
