One of the very last historic and respected entities of the sport being pawned off to become a bratty rich man's scalp trophy. Horrible news. I see many mid-level/rising fighters facing fewer and fewer 'big' opportunities in the aftermath. He want's complete control and say over rankings and venue in a sport that has always been completely wide open to all levels.

Turki is ensuring big fights and cards are being made. I do not think Beterbiev v Bivol would have been made without him. The Saudi's have made some good fights
They are also guilty of pushing undeserving fighters
Making unwanted fights & fights ahead of time
I loved seeing Parker for example upsetting their plans
There doesn't seem to be any real plan with the match making
Just throw names in a hat & pick
Big fights being taken away from fans attending is a bit of an issue
But I like to watch from a screen, with multiple angles & replays these days so I'm split
If you think the rankings had issues under De La Hoya
I think they might get much worse now
