    if the jab is so important then what is the point of throwing them?

    You use the jab because you can win a whole fight just throwing that punch.

    The jab is generally a safer punch to throw than the others. You can vary the jab it to test your opponents reaction to setting up the other more powerful combinations.

    The jab is a thing of beauty in boxing.
    Do not let success go to your head and do not let failure get to your heart.
