"Conspiracy theories" - a term used to invalidate/dismiss unpleasant possibilities

Conspiracies exist from the elderly women’s bridge club to the international conference table. The more money, power, and influence available for the taking, the more likely the existence of a conspiracy which is typically devious, subversive, and damaging to the victims directly commensurate to the size of the prize. So has been the truth of human nature since long before it was recorded in pictographs in a cave. Conspiracies and conquests are ubiquitous in history from hieroglyphs to scrolls to modern texts. In fact, conspiracies are the indubitable norm of animal human nature in the quest for status, wealth, and dominance at all levels of society. That fact is obvious from tribal societies through feudal lords, cabals, dictatorships, oligarchies, republics, and democracies. That is the reality that mocks idealistic, simplistic desires for peace, equality, justice, and freedom.

Conspiracies are the norm, not the exception.

So how can we stop the general public from seeing this truth? Demonize and label anything that may reveal the horrible and unpleasant truth as "conspiracy theories".

And the mainstream media has succeeded in doing this.

People literally think that if they can find one outrageous conspiracy theory that that makes all the rest of the ideas also conspiracy theories. It's the epitome of closed-mindedness and ignorance.

If a crazy conspiracy theory that says that the moon is made of green cheese or that Joe Biden secretly works for the eskimos is out there, THERE ARE ACTUALLY PEOPLE WHO CONSIDER THEMSELVES INTELLECTUAL WHO WILL TAKE THIS GREEN CHEESE OR ESKIMO CONSPIRACY THEORY AND SWEEPINGLY TRY TO DISCOUNT EVERY OTHER CONSPIRACY THEORY IN THE WORLD.

I can not help but to think about Pavlov's dog study. Many people have been conditioned/programmed to automatically think that any theory, regardless of how much evidence there is to support it, is automatically a “conspiracy theory" if it does not align with the media/government narrative. It's the epitome of dismissive arrogance and oversimplification. This conditioning is further engrained into a reward system where people who fail to think critically and fail to research claims on their own are rewarded by upvotes and likes and overall by social acceptance.

Talking about theories, I’ve got a theory that all the insipid, milktoast, bloodless people out there are positioning themselves into a coup d’etat called the Tyranny of the Bland. They’re trying to get us all into a position where we can only use about five thousand words of which they approve and even then not in a coherent sentence to convey any actual information.
