You can say all the negative things you like about Switzerland

But their flag is a big plus

We're underdogs against Switzerland. How did that happen.

I'm looking forward to the other semi finals more than ours. The torture continues.

Amazingly some other teams have realised you can win a football match by attacking....

So one semifinal is set between Spain and France. Sooooo happy Spain got by Germany. IMO they are far the better team anyway. Germany would've been lucky to win.

Portugal got within some penalty kicks of making it an Iberian semifinal. Can't help but thinking that the power in European soccer is concentrated in southwestern Europe.

Spain, France, Portugal... some soccer giants right there.

Across the pond, it's Argentina and Canada in one semifinal. Canada??

The other semi is waiting for the winners of Brazil-Uruguay and Panama-Colombia.

    Spoiler Alert!

    Congratulations.

One comment from an outsider's point of view, though.

You guys need a lot more Saka and Bellingham, and a little less Kane (who to me always looks just a bit like a lumbering oaf).

I thought they were done. But credit to them... they woke up in the 2nd half. Turned into a terrific match.

Saw the highlights and it was an entertaining game. Holland should be favourites against England.

We played better. Not quite firing. Kane is a real problem. He isn't at the races at all and needs to be replaced. I'm almost hoping he's unfit for Wednesday. Quality set of penalties.

Much improved and penalties were class

Southgate can't win whatever he does. He may be over cautious but that is in his genes, it is what makes him what he is. People saying "I would rather go out than carry on getting through playing like this" can basically f**k off.

It's not like after playing exciting attacking football we were never sent home anyway by a combination of bad luck, and opposing team playing more boring but more effective football etc.

Winning is winning and I would like to enjoy it before I forget what my name is and what being English means and what football actually is.

Southgate will pick the same players and formation. They did show a lot of character to come back from behind again.

Saka crosses the ball but no forward is there to tap it in.

No way will England win the whole tournament. Spain are too good.

    This is all nerve-wracking.

At last! An England fan that gets it right. So much bullshit talked by England fans. Winning is everything.
Please don’t take this as a dig because it’s not. Most England are so entitled. “Rather go out than win ugly!” THEY AINT 70’s BRAZIL!
The first priority is win a tournament , shake off the “always get beat when they meet a decent side” tag.
From there , it’s gets a little easier to win tournaments.
England have their best chance ever. I know that’s been said before , but this side is different. Not in the quality of play, but their attitude.
The Penalty takers were INCREDIBLE! that in itself is a massive step forward. As they walked up, you sensed that they would all score. Nowadays , this is a massive part of the game.
They came back from behind AGAIN! that shows the spirit is right.
On the minus side, if they end up playing Spain ( which they may not) I’m not sure if they can get enough possession or cope with Spain on the flanks, it could be one way traffic.
But a final is a final, anything can happen.
Am I dismissing Holland? I have to say, I feel Switzerland are a better team than Holland, so…………
My last word is to give the award to the biggest cunt in the English media. Jamie O’Hara, take a fucking bow.
Watch this failed footballer who couldn’t cope with the profession (his own words) on YouTube watching these games with Cundy for Talksport. The way he digs out Southgate is quite frankly disgusting!
If England do win this tournament (not my ideal choice, but if it happens, it happens) the first thing Southgate should do is DEMAND that O’Hara gets the sack!
When somebody gets it completely wrong in the media, why shouldn’t they? It’s no fucking different.

How the fuck are we in another semi.

We've won one game so far but the gods are smiling on us. It was better last night. Saka was the stand out but still not creating real chances.

But we're still here ffs. Class penalties. How the hell did Toney do that with his. Didn't even look at the ball.

Kane needs to be dropped but you can't do that to your captain can you....

That Toney penalty was something else right?

I've got to say, konsa and Guehi have been fucking brilliant at the back. Declan Rice impresses me more with every game.

I probably should've started another thread on Copa America, but it probably wouldn't have gotten much traffic.

In any case, I think an Argentina-Colombia final is very likely. Argentina of course would be the favorite, but Colombia has been playing lights out.

Brazil underwhelmed and deserved to lose to Uruguay.

I am interested in how Darwin Nunez is doing? He gets a lot of criticism playing for Liverpool but he is a beast of a player with so much potential.
