Apparently not too shabby. It's interesting to see how players who play for clubs in the Premier League, La Liga, etc, perform for their own countries in international competitions like UEFA Euro or Copa America. Sometimes they underwhelm in club competition and shine for their countries... and sometimes it's the other way around. Guys like Messi and Ronaldo typically do well on both stages, and I imagine the pressure is always high when they're wearing their countries' colors.

Nunez has bags talent, and on a training ground he probably looks a World beater.that’s why he always gets picked. And he can go on a run of 5 or 6 games where he’s unstoppable, then 10 games without a goal.
He must drive his coaches crazy.

Well... one side of the Final is decided. It is Spain that will be waiting for the winner of England vs Netherlands. I must say I'm happy Spain got to the Final, as IMO they're probably the most deserving team of the bunch. They've gotten here with a pleasing, attacking style... and I hope they don't revert to old habits in the Final. I'm hoping tomorrow's match is a good one.

On the Copa America side, I just watched a tremendous match between Argentina and Canada. Argentina won to secure a spot in the Final... but Canada surprised the hell out of me with their good effort. I don't exactly think football when I think about Canada. Good for them!

Tomorrow it's Uruguay vs Colombia in the other semifinal.

Sad that both Cups are coming to an end. I've really enjoyed watching them.

Agree re Spain being the best team of the tournament so far. Can't remember what was expected of them at the start mind. Know they're a decent team but not the team of 15 or so years ago when they won (not checking but I think I'm right!) three of the major tournaments back to back.

Whoever wins tonight will need to find another gear to beat them in the final.

Not nervous yet but I will be come late afternoon. Weird feeling. We're in a semi that doesn't happen often yet low expectation and general feeling we don't deserve to be here.

Yamal and Williams have been superb, and Rodri has just bossed games. The Spanish players technique is just fabulous.

France have sort of used the same setup and tactics as England (conservative play, solid defence, wait for someone with super talent to do something), and they gave Spain problems.

if England go through, those tactics may be good ones, but I think France have that bit more individual talent

disagree France have more individual talent - Mbappe though is certainly special.

On paper I'd say we have better talent, it's just unfortunate the game is played on grass where the talent is not flourishing........

    Fucking hell.

We'll be underdogs on Sunday but wtf something is going right. Just need kane to get injured before the final now to give Southgate an easy call to make...

    We actually played OK tonight

Congratulations... that was a well-played match. Although I thought the ref called a few questionable fouls against Netherlands... I also felt it could've easily been 2-1 or 3-1 England at the half. Some quality near misses.

Regardless, it's gonna be a quality Final.

    England vs Spain.

Doesn't get much more classic than that.

What a messy semifinal between Uruguay and Colombia.

Colombia won a frantic, foul-filled affair.

I think Argentina sweeps the floor with them in the final.

I can see why the penalty was given - in the crazy days of var - but no way should those be given in my book.

Agreed thought we should have been ahead at half time but we got the lucky break late on again. I’ll take it of course.

That was never a penalty but I am not going to argue with it considering some of the shocking decisions that have gone against England and in favour of our opposition in the past. On balance I think we deserved it and we played with so much more coherence we have got a decent chance on Sunday if we build on that performance and get a fair wind behind us. Almost optimistic.

After Colombia's win over Uruguay in the Copa América semifinal, tempers flared on the pitch. But things got really ugly when some Uruguay players went into the stands and began fighting with Colombian fans. Darwin Nuñez was at the center of this brawl. Reportedly he went in there to protect his wife and children, who were reportedly being harassed by the Colombia fans. In any case, Conmebol is reportedly investigating the incident, and it's as of yet unclear whether any disciplinary actions will be taken, and against whom. If Darwin gets disciplined, it's unclear whether that will affect his status or role with Liverpool.

Too bad the match turned in that fashion. I had mentioned earlier how it was a foul-filled, messy match. I was actually rooting for Uruguay. I'm hoping the refs take notice, and keep the Final under control.

Well 28 hours or so to go. Today is the calm before the storm.

Most of us hope rather than expect to do it.

At the start of the tournament if someone offered new getting to the final and you could either play Germany, France, Portugal or Spain though I'd have chosen Spain out of those options.

A month however is a long time in football

    Spoiler Alert!

There's a time difference, so I won't go into details.

But that was worthy of a Finals match. Both this one and the last World Cup final have been excellent, exciting matches. Both very well played by both teams. Congratulations to both teams, as they put on a terrific show.

Later tonight is the Copa America final match between Argentina and Colombia.

I'm hoping for an equally quality match.
