    Default Canelo vs Berlanga predictions

I know it's still a bit early, but I thought I'd get a headstart. So this is a different type of poll. You only get choices based on a Canelo win (foregone conclusion).

    Let's face it.

I've said all along this is a farce of a fight. Canelo RAN from the legitimate opponent (David Benavidez)... and Newyorikan boxer Berlanga (overrated and overhyped) fell into his lap. As much as they're trying to make this into another installment of the famous PR-Mexico rivalry... it isn't. It's a cherry-picking, redheaded diva (with all the WBC and judges in his pocket) versus a loudmouthed, underachieving, blown-up hype Puerto Rican from New York, who doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of beating Canelo. It all fits neatly into Canelo's retirement tour. Take no chances... avoid dangerous opponents... and ride off into the sunset of a manufactured career. (Don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out, Ginger).

It won't be a decision loss, but I'll include it as a choice anyway.

On the infinitesimal chance you think Berlanga might win... say so, and why.

I'm giving Berlanga the benefit of the doubt... going out on a limb... and predicting Canelo TKO 5.

i honestly don't know enough about Berlanga to make an informed decision, but I'll give him the kudos that he can't be all that bad to get the fight in the first place.
So i'm gonna say he puts in a spirited performance and gets stopped late around the 10th .

why make a poll on a farce of a fight? canelo's living rent free in your mind. there's a fantastic fight this weekend you could post about instead. david b decided to stay at light heavy & give up his wbc super middle interim belt. canelo told turki he'll do things on his terms, i love he's not kissing his ass like others are. canelo is also talking about fighting in japan

I like how you conveniently understate things... but then you've always been a Canelo groupie. Why change now...

Why not tell the whole story. How David B got sick and tired of waiting for the redheaded bitch, and finally decided to move on. Lest he waste his career waiting on that chickenshit.

That's the part that makes Canelo wear even bigger clown shoes in a farce fight like this. The realistic and complete expectation is that Canelo is multiple levels above Berlanga and can end this at any time after adequate assessment of Berlanga. Live time and even this version of retirement tour Canelo. But if he turns it into a Big Brother adoption program as with Munguia he'll find a small sweet spot for a willing but levels limited opponent and go into Coast'Nelo mode letting Berlanga hang around. Can the fans really laugh any harder whether he stops him or not? That all happened at the signing. But he should demolish Berlanga after a few nods and holding back a laugh or two. That's my full expectation.

the whole story is david b lost his super middleweight belt twice through poor discipline. otherwise canelo would have happily taken it from him. the whole story is david b has never been canelo's mandatory & now when the opportunity is there for him to keep his wbc interim belt & try to force a mandatory fight with canelo he doesn't want it. the whole story is that david b tried to build some fake mexican monster narrative while his best wins are over anthony dirrell, caleb plant & demetrius andrade el oh el. the whole story is david b has been begging for a payday & canelo has never & will never need david b. you're little more than a casual these days which is why canelo lives rent free in your head & has you making polls about his fights rather than posting about other good matchups that are happening

I like Berlanga is giving attitude towards Canelo, his last opponent gave too much respect.

Wow. It seems it's me who's living rent free in your head.

It's a boxing forum, sport. We're all at liberty to post about fighters we like and dislike. Get over it. Take a tranquilizer.

You don't like my criticism of Ginger? Feel free to look away so your eyes don't water.

    Casual??

Casual is fawning over an Instagram princess who's little more than a "one-hit-wonder" and calls himself King and wears a funny crown.

Casual is your groupie devotion and adoration of a fighter who doesn't even have the backing of his own entire nation.

Mexicans are traditionally proud and supportive of their boxing champions.
Yet, Canelo doesn't even have the support of all Mexicans.
A cursory look into social media will show that.
A lot of Mexicans feel about Ginger the same way as I do.

Casual is twisting the facts in favor of the object of your adoration.

In other words, your hilarious "whole story" soliloquy" is nothing but a stinking load of horseshit.
Not even YOU can believe the ridiculous spin you've put on the Benavidez story.
Next you'll be claiming Benavidez was the one who was scared of Canelo.

    Casual?

I was a boxing fan back when you were still picking your nose in elementary school. Back before social media and Instagram princesses. Back when boxing fans preferred substance over style.

But you wouldn't know any of that stuff, eh sport? You're as casual as they come.

it is a boxing forum & just like you are free to post your criticism of canelo i am free to highlight how much of a casual you are

show me where i've fawned over king ry & ever called him more than a prospect or a contender, this is more of your usual mudslinging that you can't back up, so i'm going to have to start referring to you as a liar & a casual. favourite fighters don't have to be the best ever do they? it's only you who worries about what a fighter does outside the ring, i'm only interested in what they do in the ring. you used to think felix verdejo could be the goods, should i now say you fawned over a murderer? you see how silly your arguments are?

my devotion and adoration to a fighter? i have openly admitted that i am disappointed with canelo's recent opposition, show me anywhere that i've said canelo's next fight is a good one

most fighters don't have the backing of their entire nation & you already know this because you said a lot of mexicans feel the same way as you do, not all though yeh?

i guess you didn't like the truth of the whole story

you might have been a hardcore boxing fan at one time in the distant past but those days are long gone & now you're just a bitter, negative casual who rarely focuses on the good, positive fights & fighters in the sport today. when was the last time you posted a thread about a signed fight that you were excited about?

    C'mon bro, admit it.

You get bothered when someone criticizes the objects of your adoration and devotion. Look how you still refer to Ryan as KingRy... LOL. But no. You don't fawn over these guys (LMAO).

Hey it's ok. Nothing to be ashamed of. Even if you were to have life-sized posters of them... that's nothing bad. You are free to be a fawning groupie of whomever you like.

You skillfully and conveniently twist the truth about Canelo RUNNING FROM (worse than ducking) Benavidez. A truth known to the entire boxing world. Why? Cause you're a certified Canelo fanboy. Again... nothing to be ashamed of. Hell... own up to it. Shout it from the rooftops. There's worse things in life.

Nothing you can say... no keyboard tough guy tactics... no outright lies... no childlike endless repetitions... no amount of hurled insults....NOTHING can change the perception you've meticulously built in this forum. From COVID... to guns... to conspiracy theories... to any other topic you like to argue about. You've made yourself very clearly known.

People tire of engaging you, and you always make sure it is YOUR name under the last comment. Same exact shit will happen here. You will always make sure you have the last word, like in every schoolyard fight in the world.

Look bro. Like millions of other people, I dislike the artificial, ultra-careful way Canelo's career was constructed. It contrasts totally against previous Mexican champions, and those from elsewhere. I dislike the over-the-top, undeserved hype he's always gotten. I also dislike the Instagram princess claiming he was the Face of Boxing off one good fight, and then self destructing.

It obviously bothers you that I'm right, and that I apparently don't own the same life-sized posters of them that you do. It bothers you that I criticize your idols.

    May I suggest therapy.
Maybe you and PrincessRy can get a groupie discount.

It always gets a little silly. This talk and need to thumb nail fans in grades of hardcore to casuals. You see it a lot over different platform and it's a constant on twatter. No idea where the need to define others comes from but it transcends boxing and happens in society on whole today. Far as here main page, everyone is encouraged and very much free to post boxing related info-thoughts-opinions etc as they please. No quotas required. And it's always appreciated. Main thing we try to avoid main page is a lot of duplicates, spam or ones that turn into spill over arguments. But by no means does not posting a certain style, criteria or amount make someone a "casual". Certainly not entrenched and consistent old guard members who have spent and posted here for twenty years at their life convenience and fan desire. That is freedom. And it's all appreciated.
