Default Jared Anderson failed his big test- is it over?

To me, he was a prospect that was too rushed into the media as the next salvation of the US heavyweight scene and was not really tested at any degree until he came into Bakole. That fight for him was a must win. He can come back, but has to go to the back of the line and start over again like Ajagba.

You can't rush these young fellahs.

They say boxing is at least 75 percent mental. In Jared's case it feels like more. He's been conflicted early on, during and has a massive climb back from a high profile brutal beatdown. We've seen this scenario for as long as we can recall that first year as fans. A few things stand out for concern imo, he makes the exact same mistakes defensively. Also his talk of early retirement as mentioned numerous times. He set the table for doubt if/when the first stumbled came...not only in himself but fans. And the massive stage he's been propelled to by Turki and some "ambassadorship" program. That means he'll be right back into a high level opponent on some ppv trying to hone his flaws and continue the hype up. Or maybe he'll get a proper rebuild return, not a can but an opponent he can learn on and steady. As he's only 24 and no need to toss him right back into the main stage woodchipper. I don't want to see young top prospects in some recycling program strictly in the name of "making big fights" on stacked cards.

It's a fucking shame what America has done to its young people. They are all over the place simpering and whimpering like fools.

Stacey McKinley said the same thing you are saying about Jared. McKinley said this several months ago.

Yeh I think he nailed it well ahead of time. It's not in the moment as for all his flaws Anderson did keep getting up and firing back so he didn't quit. But in the aftermath, he has soooo many questions to ask and answer himself. It's going to be interesting.

This is a reality and cannot be overlooked. Heavyweight has always been the glamour division, and sometimes the only division casuals care about.

For the U.S. to have basically lost previous "heavyweight salvation" Deontay Wilder to a series of devastating knockout losses, once again leaves a huge opening for that spot.

Jared seemed to fit the bill, before he came crashing down to reality.

I think Jared is more salvageable than Deontay was, simply because I think he can still pick up some good techniques and drop some bad ones.

But yeah... it all depends on where his handlers allow his career to be taken.

This is boxing. Loses can happen. Bakole was big risk. For me better to risk than pad record. How boxer comes back from losses is more important
