Is this a joke because if it aint Manfredo is going to be soooo badly beaten up he will never fight again.

The thing is...outside of Kostya...who has Hatton fought that equaled Mayweather's opposition?

Haton has only arrived on the world scene since june 2005 thanks to a difficult but profitable promoter. Floyd has been a world champ for many years. I guess thats the reason that I think floyd deserves a bit of stick for his recent 'endeavours'.

Not just equaled, but trumped mate. Mayweather hasn't faught a tszyu level fighter because there hasn't been one about for him to fight at 130 and 135. That isn't floyds fault. What is floyd's fault is that he's chasing 147/154 mosley/oscar when clearly there's unfinished business that the world wants to see him finish.

This is why I never thought much of Calzaghe (up until the Lacy fight)
talk, talk, talk about Kessler, Roy, Woods, Tarver, Toney (OK so he was joking)
and then we get........ the contender??!!!

I agree totally that he has used up all his easy fights.

I really wouldn't buy into this at all. A couple weeks ago they interviewed Roach on Boxingtalk and he was saying that they had an Autumn fight planned for Manfredo against Jeff Lacy.

It's all bullshit, he's just throwing Manfredo's name into the mix to give him some kind of credibility, like saying he is in the mix with the best.

I like Manfredo but you just cannot go from being a junior middleweight, to then going back to 5 rounders for a tv show, losing 2 of 6 and only scraping wins in all the others, then getting one win against an old shot fighter who needed to be put out pasture, to then taking on the undisputed best super middleweight in the world.

    People, its BULLSHAT!!!

I don't buy it, Calzaghe's camp knows he'll get a bunch of (deserved) crap for this

If for some unknown reason it happens, and like I said I think it sounds like BS, then there's no reason to sugar coat it, its crap. Manfredo's a 154-160 pounder who's fought one fight at 168. But I don't buy it, I'll be surprised if it happens, very surprised.

Don't you see this as a textbook frank warren move. If it makes dollars (pounds in this case) it makes sense? (The only floyd quote I like )

I hope you're right this would totally support my opinion that Calzaghe is no good for the sport. He needs to be unifying or making "superfights" that is all.

If Jeff woulda won I guarantee he woulda called out another belt

Gotta go with the C-man, Italian Dragon over the Italian warrior. I think KO by 5. Really tore up on this one.. I really like both fighters.
It feels good to be back home.

Come on do not be such a hater, the guy unified just some weeks ago and no new fight has been decided yet. Is it not too much to ask for asking a boxer doing two unifying bouts in a row?

We never would've seen Calzaghe-Lacy if Lacy hadn't called Joe out
AND gone across the pond for it and it's not like it was a war, it was a walk in the park and he needs to get right back to work against quality opposition. It's not hate, it's an accurate description of how Calzaghe operates, he talks about fighting Bernard Hopkins and then fights someone you've never heard of.
Don't worry I'm sure he'll let Kessler keep his paper belt just like the little deal he has with Markus Beyer

...which reminds me, shouldn't you be posting incessantly about how Kessler is your god?
