    Default Cyberpunk 2077

Why fans here of the game? Or the Cyberpunk genre in general?

I feel in love with the game a few years ago and realised I'd loved the genre my whole life. Something about a gritty, dystopian Sci-Fi drenched in neon lights and synthwave music proves I'm a total hipster emo cunt sack but I just can't get enough of it! 😁

I stopped playing games early 2000 like street fighter/Mortal Combat after my nephew destroyed and embarrassed me.

My sons play Destiny 2, Elden Ring and Hollow Knight. They have made videos of it.

I think that's why I enjoy playing games that aren't online or competitive, I can play at my own pace and get lost in a world or two.

Glad you have that experience of gaming with younger family members.

You should add this to the "signs you're getting older" thread 😅

Only thing I recall about this one was hearing how buggy it was on release but never played it. I've always been a sucker for open world games. Just on checking out the reviews it sounds a little like the old school classic Deus Ex series

Yeah I picked up Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox One, when it launched and had to request a refund from Microsoft because it was so bad!

A couple years later I got it for the Series X and suddenly it was pretty good. A few patches and a major overhaul later, it is probably one of the best games, in one of the most impressive, immersive worlds, that I've ever played!

I had heard about Deus Ex, as I noticed Mankind Divided was on sale. Asked around and was told absolutely to buy the game!

I played the original Deus X and was blown away at the time. I know it wasn't open world but Max Payne for it's time had hell of an atmosphere and great dark storytelling.

Max Payne was great! The 'gun time' slow down, something like that. And the ominous throwback cut scenes and comic book like captions. It sucked you right in. Was talking to one of my nephews who apparently took up retro game collecting after getting married . Went and dug my PS1 and PS2 originals up. Amazing what you hang onto. What's old is new for a new generation, just wish I had not tossed out all of the disk cases to "save room".
