Default Naoya Inoue v Ye Joon Kim

Japanese world champion Naoya Inoue will defend his undisputed super-bantamweight titles against Sam Goodman on 24 December in Tokyo.

Undefeated Inoue, 31 is a four-weight world champion and one of boxing's pound-for-pound stars.

Nicknamed the 'Monster' for his record of 25 knockouts in 28 wins, he beat Ireland's TJ Doheny by stoppage in September.

Australian Goodman, 26, has won all 19 of his fights.

The bout at Ariake Arena has been billed as 'Nightmare on Christmas Eve', with Inoue's WBA, WBC, IBF and WBO belts on the line.

    Sam Goodman ?

I've read that some ppl seriously think Goodman ends the Inoue sushi train. But Inoue will torpedo Goodman, midships & send him to the bottom of Wollongong Harbour. Man down!

Inoue will turn Goodman into Deadman. You need either serious power or great athleticism to beat Inoue, and Goodman doesn't have neither of those attributes. Inoue gives him an atomic wedgie on the steps of the Tokyo Metropolitan library.

i like sam but i don't think he's ready for naoya. i think his team were hoping naoya would move up & he'd get a shot at a vacant belt

4th fight in 12 months for Inoue. His biggest fights could come against fighters at weights below him. Featherweight was anticipating his move up. Staying put and waiting for Nakatani and Rodriguez, both who should be considered P4P, is the better move.

Rodriguez is my favorite fighter these days, his skills might be the best in the game. But he needs 2/3 years to grow up to 122, and he admits that

sam opened his cut again in sparring, fight is off. toshiki shimomachi was scheduled to fight on the undercard, he'd be a good replacement

Goodman's cut reopened in training and he will now require surgery

Fucking shame. He’s already been off for longer than he would’ve liked.

Sky have this fight on Friday starting at 8am so awkward time for me to watch. They should have some consideration.

Ye-Joon Kim out of South Korea coming in two weeks out. Hard pressed to fill the corner and don't know a thing about Kim. Watched some clips and he's traveled, has fought in Japan before and has gone 12. Throws from all angles and looks strong. But that's about it. Unfortunately his head sits up front high like an enthusiastic piñata. No going the distance with Inoue I'm afraid. It's on a Friday rather than a Tuesday also. Just realized this is the 6th time missing Inoue fight "live" over last 7 fights. Love to see him fight in a time zone that isn't 5 AM on a workday again .

Excellent contest Shimomachi wins by majority decision, there were multiple knockdowns in the fight.
