Default Derek Chisora v Otto Wallin

British heavyweight Derek Chisora will face Sweden's Otto Wallin in Manchester on Saturday, 8 February.

A veteran of 48 fights, Chisora will turn 41 six weeks before the fight at the Co-op Live arena.

The Londoner, who earned a unanimous points decision win over Joe Joyce in July, suggested he is close to retirement.

"I've had some amazing nights in Manchester, both in the ring and in the warehouse raves, so it was only right I had one last dance up north," Chisora said.

Zimbabwe-born Chisora made his debut in 2007. He has lost 13 pro fights, including three to Tyson Fury and a world-title shot against Vitali Klitschko in 2012.

"Come 8 February I'm going to be bringing war to Wallin, be ready for my penultimate showreel knockout," he added.

Chisora was in negotiations to fight Jarrell Miller before the fight fell through amid a dispute between the American and his promoter.

Wallin, 34, has won 27 pro fights with two defeats.

He inflicted a cut on Fury which needed 47 stitches before losing on points in 2019 and was stopped by a dominant Anthony Joshua last year.

"I know I'm walking into the lion's den, but I will be ready for it and ready to get the victory," Wallin said.

British light-heavyweights Willy Hutchinson and Zach Parker will contest the chief support bout at the 23,500-capacity indoor arena.

On one hand glad Big Pharma Miller is not receiving another million dollar payday. On the other, Chisora is one "war" away from feeing thru a straw and really should be done with it all. Bad style for him with Wallin who has potential to just make a snoozer of it at range until Chisora gases.

Gotta be honest, like everyone , I’ve been saying he should retire for ages. But he’s starting winning fights.
And not against tomato cans either. It wasn’t that long ago that some people (me included) put Joe Joyce top 5 in the World.
Wallin isn’t the worst HW out there either.
He entertains, he always gives his all, I’m slowly changing my view on him. Just hope he comes out safely.

I like this fight a lot, actually. It's a good bounce back fight for Wallin as he tries to get back into contention. Chisora has basically become a gatekeeper for the heavyweight class. If you want to become a Champion then you have to get pass Chisora. I know Chisora is beloved in England so I'm hoping he comes out on top but Wallin is a much better fighter than Joyce.

Wallin is very strategic and he lands a great counter punch. Chisora usually comes forward so this should be a great fight.

Chisora is a proper Dell Boy, he is making a mint pretending he will retire and leading the fans on. Hope he gets beat.

The stakes have been raised for Derek Chisora's final fight in the United Kingdom.

Chisora is set to square off against Otto Wallin on Saturday night at the Co-Op Live Arena in Manchester in what will be his 49th professional outing.

The event is being billed as 'Last Dance' by Queensberry Promotions.

But Chisora is expected to have one final bow abroad before he calls time on his long and punishing career.

Providing Chisora comes through the contest unscathed, the 41-year-old is hoping to land a high-profile match-up with either Francis Ngannou in Africa or a trilogy with Dillian Whyte.

Yet it isn't just one last big payday 'Del Boy' is fighting for this weekend.

He is also vying for a No.2 spot in the IBF rankings.

At the press conference on Thursday, it was confirmed that Chisora vs Wallin has been upgraded to an IBF eliminator.

Martin Bakole and Efe Ajagba are due to square off in the spring in a final eliminator to determine the mandatory for Daniel Dubois' red and gold strap.

But the winner of Chisora vs Wallin will be the highest-ranked contender until Ajagba and Bakole duke it out for the vacant No.1 spot.

Bakole and Ajagba are set to fight on a stacked triple-header, which is pencilled in for May in New York's Times Square.

Fierce rivals Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia will lock horns in separate bouts on the bill, while Bakole and Ajagba will kick off the card.

Ajagba got the call to face Bakole after Agit Kabayel and Zhilei Zhang passed up on the opportunity.

IBF heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois defends his title against Joseph Parker on February 22 in Saudia Arabia.

And whoever emerges victorious from Bakole and Ajagba's final eliminator will be next in line to face the title holder.

At the time of writing, the No.1 and No.2 positions in the IBF standings are vacant while Bakole is No.3, Frank Sanchez is No.4, Parker is No.5 and Ajagba is No.6.

Chisora and Wallin feature further down the list at No.10 and No.12, respectively.

Yarde is sitting next to Frank Warren so they must be friends again.

Zach Parker struggling against the substitute. Hutchinson pulled out.

Insane this is a title eliminator or are they just flapping their gums? Wallin pecking from the backseat and Chisora ambling forward like a grizzly bear under water.

Wallin is very passive in there but somehow Chisora is cut.

Wallin went straight to working that cut after Dr checked him. Think he got that round.
