Default Oleksandr Usyk v Daniel Dubois 2

Daniel Dubois and Oleksandr Usyk are in talks to fight at Wembley Stadium on 12 July.

The rival heavyweight champions hold all four major world titles between them, with Dubois the IBF champion and Usyk the WBA (Super), WBO and WBC belt holder.

Usyk, 38, is undefeated in 23 fights and has a win over Dubois, stopping him in August 2023.

Their rematch would be for the undisputed heavyweight title as well as offer 27-year-old Dubois the chance of revenge.

While talks are ongoing between both camps, no contracts have been signed.

Dubois has won three fights since his defeat by Usyk, securing a knockout in each of them.

If the Londoner cannot reach terms with Usyk, he will be ordered by the IBF to face 49-fight veteran Derek Chisora who the IBF has as its number one contender.

The projected date in July comes in the middle of a busy period in sport with Katie Taylor's trilogy fight against Amanda Serrano on 11 July in New York, the final weekend of Wimbledon on 12 and 13 July and the Women's Euro 2025 also under way.

Usyk is keen to fight for the undisputed title once more before he retires after he was forced to vacate the IBF belt before his rematch with Tyson Fury last December.

The Ukrainian, who was also undisputed champion at cruiserweight, has suggested he will retire after two more fights.

Dubois was due to defend his IBF belt against Joseph Parker in February, before illness caused him to withdraw from the contest in fight week.

Usyk's most recent fight was his second win over Fury, when he confirmed himself as the number one heavyweight in the world.

No British fighter has held the undisputed heavyweight title in the four-belt era and the last Briton to be undisputed heavyweight champion was Lennox Lewis in 1999.

Feel sorry for Parker but makes sense. Unless Usyk suddenly looks old can't see Dubois being given a chance to land any power shots against a fighter who will not give him the chances he did in their first fight.

The dismantling of Joshua I think flattered Dubois a bit and he will not have a gung ho fighter hanging his chin out for him this time. Still interesting with Dubois power there is always a chance.

It's ok I suppose. Never fell into the Dubois was cheated crowd and low blow-gate but in hindsight it worked out great for Dubois and he's put himself top stage. But had a known that the Ibf was legit naming Chisora a mandatory and making Filip v Frank "FFS" Sanchez as eliminator I'd tell Usyk to walk away from the Ibf. Leave the trinket alone he doesn't need it. This division is determined to stay stagnate and step backwards. Meanwhile two guys with true momentum, Parker and Kabayel are wearing interim anchors.

Never thought he was cheated either and he was outclassed on the night but the low blow itself was questionable enough I thought to warrant this.

Dubois has earned the right for this fight with his last 3 wins. His run is better then any other boxer including Kabayel.

Usyk did make the most of the low blow but he absolutely outclassed Dubois and will do so again. Oleksandr is a true great.

daniel always seemed the obvious choice for oleksandrs next fight to me after he pulled out against joseph parker. daniel might get stopped earlier this time

He could get stopped earlier if Dubois reverts back to the Dubois that gives in. But in fairness to Dubois, I think he’s moved on from that and has a lot more to fight for now.
Or if Dubois tries to pressure Usyk like he’s very good at . But Usyk will cope with that and Dubois will tire quickly.
And Usyk isn’t a big banger at this weight. But I do expect Usyk to box his ears off, with Dubois’ only chance being that he lands with a big powerful haymaker, which is unlikely against Usyk .
Similar late stoppage or wide points win for me.

Usyk looked incredible after the low blow/knock down against Dubois. He went into rage mode and threw fast punches at different angles that were too much for Daniel to handle.

I have not seen Usyk let lose his hands that spitefully at heavyweight. It showed me he is a different level to the heavyweights and has a lot in reserve.

The British media are conveniently forgetting that Usyk outclassed and dismantled Dubois. They are desperately trying to convince us that this is a different Triple D, he dropped the Ukrainian and Oleksandr is getting old.

Usyk is very funny and entertaining when being interviewed. Top bloke and modern day great.

I’ve seen plenty of stage managed press conferences , but never have I ever seen anything as blatantly obvious as that push. It was almost in slow motion ffs!

    No he isn't.

I'll be wanting Usyk to win this one though hope we see him in a great brawl with him having a few tricky moments. Won't happen

I'm just happy it's taking place where it should and not in the isolation tank of Dubai . I like Dubois. Truth is he has improved. From the jab to scratching and clawing his way back after the two time "quitter" tag. That long power jab is no joke. But man he's awkward corny . I think he'll give Usyk a major moment or two but at the end Usyk will rise above and levels separate. It also would not shock me to see Dubois go right out and swing for the balls just to see what happens. Seriously. Because he's not "getting into the head" of Usyk with the character they are trying to make him. Usyk may be getting close to the exit door, but this isn't it.

I can't wait for Dubois and his mob to ring the life out of the 'we woz robbed' narrative. You'd think their efforts and energy would be better spent doing something to counter being hopelessly outboxed in the first fight. They are seriously barking up the wrong tree if they think any kind of psychological warfare is going to work with Usyk.

Take nothing away from Dubois form. There were spots in the Millar fight where I thought he might fold, but didn't. Gave him next to no chance against Hrgovic and less against Joshua. He's found a bit extra since folding against Joyce, almost folding against Lerena, and folding against Usyk. He's going to need every bit of that new found grit against Usyk. Unless Usyk gets old very quickly, I suspect it's still not going to be enough.
When God said to the both of us "Which one of you wants to be Sugar Ray?" I guess I didnt raise my hand fast enough
