To say the least...... my jaw dropped open when I read this.

Such a pity.

Kevin Rooney charged with DWI!
By Lisa Scott

Former Mike Tyson trainer Kevin Rooney was arrested on April 7th in Coxsackie, NY for driving while intoxicated, with a BAC of more than .10%. The 49 year old Rooney was also charged with a felony offense of aggravated un-license in the first (driving with a suspended license). Office William O’Brian of the Coxsackie Police Dept. told Fightnews, “Kevin Rooney was released on $750 bail and will have a court date for May 1st.” With a long history of drunk driving charges, Rooney eventually served time in 2004 when he was sentenced to 9 months in county jail in Catskill, NY for violating his probation and disorderly conduct. The trainer was on probation for drunk driving in Albany County (where his license was suspended indefinitely) and the disorderly conduct charge stemmed from public urination in the village of Catskill. Late last year, Rooney was one of a few trainers who were being considered as an advisor to heavyweight prospect, Samuel Peter, after Peter’s loss to Wladimir Klitschko in September. Rooney gained national attention in the 1980's as the man who honed Mike Tyson's skills and led the fighter to a world heavyweight championship after the death of legendary trainer, Cus D'Amato. If convicted of The felony charge, Rooney will most likely be placed in State prison, for a period of 1 1/2 to 4 years.
