It depends on the gym you go to. Some gyms the attitude is all about hard work and when you go there everyone in the gym is working hard. So if your serious about boxing this may be the best type of gym for you as long as you work hard every one will respect you because you are all there for a common goal. Some gyms, like the one me and my trainer recenly left, people are there just for fun; they almost act like theres no other place to go. These gyms are usually friendly whether youre a hard worker or not, but it is not ideal for someone who wants a career in boxing. If youre a slacker thats at a hard working gym i think people will have less respect for you.

Remember its not about skil its about how hard you try!

If your worried about doing it alone then I wouldn't even bother , Do it because you love the sport and enjoy the physical act and science of boxing , if you meet people down at the gym then its just a bonus.

Leah, I just merged your threads together because they're nearly identical ...

Don't get to far ahead of your self, you may not even like sparring... don;t worry about going pro or the Olympics yet

at the end of the day boxing is not for everyone so you may talk a friend into coming along once or twice but sooner or later you'll have to go at it alone, but you'll make friends at the gym

Have you asked your self " WHY do I want this?"
IF not, Im asking for you.

IS it the love of being able to think and commit under extreme pressure or the love of having the will to push yourself personally right to the edge, maybe over it?

Love to pay for all your gains with pains?
    The lure of big money?
The want to compete against another highly trained warrior?
To prove yourself to you or someone other than yourself? Maybe to the world?

    I can explain it.

Andre here are your answers for the questions u asked.

i want this because i have loved boxing since i was a little girl! i always did the sports and have wanted to become a proffesional boxer in the near future.

i love to commit myself to boxing! i have bin my whole live and boxing is my life! i also love pushing myself to the edge with my boxing skills because i know i can do it and i like to push myself one step further to prove i have what it takes to become a proffesional boxer. i dont mind the pain of it because i enjoy boxing and to be able to be a great boxer you need to be able to take the pain and stand in the ring that bit longer.
i dont want to become i proffesional boxer for the money..i would fight in a ring for free because i just like to prove to myself i have what it takes to be one of the best female boxers in the world.
i would like to fight against other proffesional boxers in the near future but when i feel i am ready and can take the challenge.
i want to prove to myself and my family that i have what it takes to become a proffesional boxer because this has been my dream since i were young! and i would just love for my dream to finally come true!

People like other people with grunt and a dream.
    like attracts like.
You 'll make friends where ever you go.
So go it alone, you wont be alone for long.
You can become whatever you hold in your mind for long enough.
    Go hard ,fear nothing.
