But Kesslers jab and 1-2 is the only thing I could see him landing regularly because like I say, he's not fast.. But the advantage in reach and boxing skill would certainly allow him to be more competitive, at the very least. Really he's just built like Lacy, a bit taller, longer, with a jab.. So I don't see how he wouldn't do better than Jeff did.. But ultimately, I dont think he can do it.
    Agreed.

Here's my opinions on why Kess can't win...

When Kess throws his left jab he often lunges with it. He drops his right hand down just below his chest & leaves himself wide assed open. He also has a bad habit of leaving himself open while backing up.

Someone like Calzaghe can easily work that out.

The main asset that Kess has is the fact that he does have a good chin, he can power through assaults, & he uses those long as arms of his to cover up his ribs.

The thing about Kessler Calzaghe that worries me is the fact that Kessler has fought no one that remotely compares to Joe. The output/pace of the Calzaghe from the Lacy fight would be unbearable...as would the output of the Calzaghe from the Mitchell fight...I just don't believe that Kess can handle that pace.

The reasons that I think Kessler could win...well...the reasons that I think that he'd lose far out wiegh the reasons that I think he could win.

Even though Joe is the top dog at Super Middleweight...

if Danny Green some how manages to KO Mundine then style wise the fight I want to see most at SMW isDanny Green v Mikkel Kessler. What a great matchup!!

Very true...I'd rather Kess take this than Calzaghe.

He's already beaten Mundine & I think that he'd take Green out too.

I'm predicting this thing doesn't happen.

If my 1st prediction is wrong, my 2nd is that Calzaghe boxes his ears off.

I really hope it happens, just pessimistic.

    Agree as well

From what i understand from the article, it's still just Kessler who's expressed his wishes to fight Calzaghe (AGAIN!!!). Calzaghe still hasn't really aknowledged Kessler's excistence has he?

IF Calzaghe/Warren has actually mentioned Kessler - It COULD just be part of Warrens infamous negotiation technique. They SAY that Jones is out of the pic. But maybe they're just using Kessler's name to apply pressure - to make Jones lower his demands.

Both Lacy and Calzaghe used Kessler this way when their fight was being negotiated - and in the end neither had any real interest in Kessler.

Jones or no Jones. Doubt they'll go for Kessler. Regardless of boxing skills Manfredo can deliver what Calzaghe wants (big US exposure, low risk) - Kessler can't.

Apparently Kess got wind of the match up with Manfredo & has seen the light of day.

I do believe that it will be his downfall though...

In the beginning I wanted this fight...but now...honestly, I wish that Calzaghe had just passed on up to 175 & let Kessler clean up the mess at 168.

Calzaghe by a hard fought 12 round SD.

This will be a hard fight for Joe, but he'll win.
100% agreed wacko it will be tough fight for joe but he will pull decision win

I'd be a bit surprised if it happened too, not shocked, but surprised

I've only seen Kessler twice, my guess from seeing him fight is that Calzaghe's a bit too quick for him but I don't think he'd blow him out

although Calzaghe's better when somebody's coming at him instead of him going forward and if Kess can make Joe come forward and keep a jab in his face I guess he could pull it off, still I'd probably have to lean towards Joe

I'd say kessler's the best chance of a competitive fight for Joe.Sam Soliman was Kessler's sparring partner beforethe Mundine fight. Sam was unlucky to lose to Mundine early in Chock's pro career. He said that Kessler wasn't super quick but his judgment of distance and timing was as good as anyone he'd been in with. You can see if you watch the Mundine fight that even with Mundine's quick feet and good reflexes, Kessler got to him on the outside whenever he was in range.

He may look like a robot but Mundine has a great jab and he could't establish it against Kessler and Kessler blocked or slipped a lot of fast hard shots

I'd back Calzaghe because his as fast as Mundine, bigger, more experienced and has the workrate that Mundine lacks but kessler may have much better boxing skills than Lacy
