But Kesslers jab and 1-2 is the only thing I could see him landing regularly because like I say, he's not fast.. But the advantage in reach and boxing skill would certainly allow him to be more competitive, at the very least. Really he's just built like Lacy, a bit taller, longer, with a jab.. So I don't see how he wouldn't do better than Jeff did.. But ultimately, I dont think he can do it.
Agreed.
Here's my opinions on why Kess can't win...
When Kess throws his left jab he often lunges with it. He drops his right hand down just below his chest & leaves himself wide assed open. He also has a bad habit of leaving himself open while backing up.
Someone like Calzaghe can easily work that out.
The main asset that Kess has is the fact that he does have a good chin, he can power through assaults, & he uses those long as arms of his to cover up his ribs.
The thing about Kessler Calzaghe that worries me is the fact that Kessler has fought no one that remotely compares to Joe. The output/pace of the Calzaghe from the Lacy fight would be unbearable...as would the output of the Calzaghe from the Mitchell fight...I just don't believe that Kess can handle that pace.
The reasons that I think Kessler could win...well...the reasons that I think that he'd lose far out wiegh the reasons that I think he could win.
