Don King will be at Chase Field in Phoenix on Wednesday to kick off the local promotion for the first world heavyweight championship ever staged in Arizona: “Red November… White Wolf Hunt” featuring WBO heavyweight champion Sergei “White Wolf” Liakhovich making his first title defense against Shannon “The Cannon” Briggs on Nov. 4 (and on SHOWTIME 9 PM ET/PT).
New DKP signee undefeated WBA lightweight champion Juan “Baby Bull” Diaz will also be present. -
WBC Boxing: Anyos Stops Schouten To Retain Female Featherweight Title
Sharon Anyos successfully defended her WBC Female Featherweight Title last night at the Southport Sharks Club in Southport, Australia. Referee Brad Vocale stopped the contest at 1:37 of the round six. Challenger Esther Schouten put up a very creditable performance but a cut-eye sustained in the fourth round by two crisp right hands of her opponent changed the complex of the fight. SaddoBoxing: First off, I hear you’re the first Salford boy to win the Lonsdale belt in over 100 years. That’s quite an achievement, you must be a bit of a hero back home?
Jamie Moore: “Yeah, everyone seems to know me here, I’m like a local sort of hero and it’s good to know…. A lot of the older guys from Salford are all big boxing fans and they’ve all said to me that they never thought they’d see anyone from Salford win the Lonsdale belt. So I’m glad really that I never knew about that fact before the fight, Steve Foster was the last person from Salford to fight for the British title, but he lost. He got straight in the ring after the fight and told me, (that Moore had won the Lonsdale belt) as he didn’t tell me before hand and I’m glad in a way.” (more…)

British Boxing: Shock WBO Title Shot For Mark Hobson!
After a hectic schedule already this year, with two world title fights, Huddersfield, England cruiserweight Mark Hobson has stepped in as a sub again to face Enzo Maccarinelli at the MEN Arena in Manchester.
With longtime WBO Champion Johnny Nelson withdrawing from the second fight on October 14 with a back injury, which saw replacement opponent Hobson push Maccarinelli to the wire last time out, Hobson will now challenge for the WBO belt, and thinks he can go one better
