At Doncaster Dome on Friday, Andy Townend of Wakefield won the vacant British Masters Lightweight Title when Ben Wager of Barnsley was forced to retire in the eighth.

Scott Gladwin of Halifax won the vacant BBBofC Central Area Super Flyweight Title by outpointing Home-fighter Connor Nixon of Doncaster.

Gavin McDonnell of Doncaster won his British Super Bantamweight Title eliminator contest against Paul Economides of Connah’s Quay on Unanimous Points.

The Stefy Bull Promotions Show featured four undercard bouts.

At Houghton-Le-Springs, Jon Lewis-Dickinson of Birtley, retained his British Cruiserweight Title by Unanimous Points over Southport’s Mike Stafford. The Show was promoted by Philip Jeffries.

In Blackpool, local man Brian Rose won the vacant WBO Inter-Continental Light-Middleweight Title by twelfth round TKO over Joachim Alcine of Canada. The Matchroom promoted fight-night featured four Title fights in total. Also on the Bill, Welshman Lee Selby successfully defended his Commonwealth Featherweight Title by stopping Australian Corey McConnell in the fifth round. Scotty Cardle of Lytham St-Annes won the vacant Central Area Lightweight Championship by outpointing Maxi Hughes of Rossington. And local man Matty Askin won the English Cruiserweight Title by Unanimous Points over China Clarke of Leeds.

At Wembley Arena, London, Paul Butler of Ellesmere Port won the Commonwealth (British Empire)Super Flyweight Title by fifth round TKO over Nigerian Yaqub Kareem. Also on the Frank Warren promoted fight-night, Nathan Cleverly of Cefn Forest, Wales, successfully defended his WBO Light Heavyweight Title by Unanimous Points over Robin Krasniqi of Munich, Germany. And Liam Walsh of Cromer successfully defended his WBO European Lightweight Title for the first time against Scott Harrison of Glasgow. Walsh wins by Unanimous Points.

In New York, British Heavyweight Giant – Tyson Fury of Wilmslow, got off the canvas in round two to win his IBF Heavyweight Title Eliminator by seventh round KO over Steve Cunningham of Philadelphia.

Also on the Bill, Tyson’s cousin – Hughie Fury, won his scheduled four round Heavyweight Contest by first round TKO of American – Alex Rozman. Hughie Fury – previously of Stockport – now resides in Canada.

And attention turns to next weekend when Bolton’s Amir Khan faces Mexican Julio Diaz of Coachella, California, for a 12-round Light Welterweight Contest at the Motorpoint Arena, Sheffield.
