Jason Delisle - Julio Gonzalez Do battle for the IBF Boxing # 2 spot

By Boxing Press October 9th, 2005 All Press Releases
November 17 at HP Pavillion in San Jose is where rugged Aussie Light Heavy Jason “the Nailer” Delisle takes on the experienced Julio Gonzalez. In a fight where everything is on the line, Delisle is confident he can counter his opponents style and that the timing is right. Jason had this to say about his upcoming fight; I have fought and won 3 times since my loss in

the 12th round last year to World Champ Clinton Woods. I make no excuses for my loss and feel that I have taken a lot of positives from that fight, understanding how I could have done it better. Julio is a great boxer who is also coming of a loss to Clinton himself earlier this year. He has taken on all challengers and is a true warrior. We know he’s strengths and more importantly his weaknesses.

Dino Billinghurst (Delisle’s trainer) said that while his boxer was the underdog “ Jason can and will win this fight”. Jason wont fall into Julio’s style of fight and has superior work rate – Julio doesn’t move as well as Woods and Jason will be applying more pressure than he did when he knocked Clinton to the canvas in the opening round of their clash last year. As Jason stated earlier – “we learnt a lot from our loss to Woods last year and won’t be leaving anything to chance this time around”

Delisle will use remote training Camp Troopers in the Grampian mountain ranges as a training base in preparation for what will be the most important fight of his 23 professional bout career. He will be sparring Kostya Tsyzu trained & undefeated in 22 fights Victor Oganov (super middleweight) & former Olympic Champ Sakio Bika amongst others.

Jason would like to thank the IBF and Dan Goossen for creating this opportunity.
