British Light Middleweight Champion Jamie Moore makes his debut for Maloney Promotions tonight on the undercard of Graham Earl's dangerous encounter with Yuri Romanov at the Goresbrook Leisure Centre in Dagenham. Moore, from Manchester, will be hoping to breakthrough into world class in 2006 after seeing off domestic rivals David Walker and Michael Jones inside the distance last year. Trained by the excellent Oliver Harrison, the southpaw Mancunian is one of the most exciting fighters in British boxing with his come forward, attacking style.
Despite running out of steam during an early career defeat to Scott Dixon and an injury related knockout loss to dangerous Ossie Duran, Moore has looked devastating when blasting out Gary Logan and Andrew Facey in 2003 plus those two thrilling aforementioned wins over Michael Jones and David Walker last year.
His opponent on Friday is Ukrainian Vladimir Borovski, who has a mixed 17-11-1 record in an up and down career. Borovski has won two of his last five fights and recently took newly crowned Commonwealth Welterweight Champion Kevin Anderson the full ten round distance. Moore, who has been on superb form, should produce a late round stoppage but may have to settle for a wide points victory in what is really a showcase fight for Maloney Promotions.
