Corley = 139.25 pounds - Witter = 139.5 pounds
The sun shone yesterday at Alexandra Palace, London, England for the weigh-in of Junior "Hitter'" Witter of Bradford and DeMarcus "Chop Chop" Corley of Washington D.C. for the vacant WBC Light Welterweight Title which takes place at the same location tonight on a Hennessy Sports promotion and will be televised live by Sky Sports.
It was a relaxed atmosphere as both fighters weighed in. Corley was particularly loose and grinned at photographers as he posed on the scales. Witter, with the word "HITTER" written in red on the side of his head, looked cool as he took his turn on the scales.
When both boxers stood together for a photo shoot they were laughing. Corley's manager asked the press who did they think was the better looking and then who has the most tattoos?
It was a fun atmosphere, something that I personally hadn't seen before at any weigh-in.
Other bouts on the Hennessy Sports fight night billed as "World Honours" include lightweight sensation John Murray of Manchester, Barnet's middleweight Darren Barker, welter John O'Donnell from Shepherds Bush, super bantam Andrew Kooner of Kettering, light heavy Kreshnick Qato of Wembley via Albania, super feather Billy Corcoran of Wembley and super middle Daniel Cadman of Waltham Abbey.
