There were fireworks on tap last night at Soboba Casino in San Jacinto, CA as WBO Welter Champ Paul Williams, 35-1 (26), made short work of Andy Kolle, 17-2 (12), stopping the Minnesota native in the first round of a non-title bout fought at middleweight.
Despite being a natural middleweight, Kolle was ill-prepared to deal with the power of Williams and was floored by a single shot within a very short time after the contest started.
Heavyweight Chris Arreola, 25-0 (22), needed only three rounds to achieve the same result against opponent Israel Carlos Garcia, 19-2 (11). 38 year old Garcia had never faced the level of competition that Arreola presented and was unable to keep the Californian off, resulting in the early stoppage.
