Default Frank Bruno or Danny Williams

I got talking about this and it would be interesting to get a general consensus from the average boxing fans . Not based on historical achievement cuz Bruno achieved the WBC title all beit at his 4th attempt .Its more to do with who has more to offer and who is the better fighter . Matched against each other who would be the puncher and how might it go ? Obviously Tyson is the formline .

Bruno may have had the biigger punch but didnt let them go like Danny could
Prime for prime Danny had better stamina
Bruno could take a better punch but couldnt recover as quick as Danny could

    Your thoughts ? . . . .

haha! Bruno had a weak chin, danny can take a better punch imo

Bruno lacked the heart of a boxer, he had more than enough to be a good champion, he cuda whiped tyson to... he just never had the heart, the killer instinct. Thats why Tyson won, thats why Bruno was never a great, he lacked the one thing you couldn't teach.

    Gotta go with Bruno

I see him knocking out Williams

Bruno only really struggled with the elite... but he still had his moments with Lewis and i think he was the first ever guy to hurt a prime Tyson ((even if it only was for a second))

Bruno only lost to world champions (with the exception of Smith, although he was a top contender), and he was nearly always beating these guys until he ran out of steam and got tagged.

He was the first man to stagger Tyson, he almost beat Tim Witherspoon and Bonecrusher Smith, he gave Lewis a tough time until he got caught and he absolutely destroyed second rate fighters.

Do you you really think that bum that Danny Williams beat this week would have lasted a round with Bruno?

He was a huge puncher and would have knocked out Skelton, Williams and Harrison with ease. He'd actually have a real chance of beating any of the heavies out there right now if he was fighting in this era, including Wladimir.

What I meant was Bruno took big punches off Lewis and stayed on his feet . Danny was wobbled by Sprot and floored by Potter . I reckon it takes a harder punch to wobble Frank but Danny comes back better Bruno seems to freeze whereas Danny shakes it off and is back to normal . I also reckon Bruno has mixed in a higher class

Danny actually beat Tyson albeit a faded one And Tyson's knee giving out was a factor in that fight

Anyway, I'd pick Bruno. He actually performed well in his moments to shine. Whilst Danny met Vitali

Then I guess, you have not seen much of Bruno then; or you were not watching properly...

Look at the punch he took of Jumbo Cummings, or the right after right he was taking off of Bonecrusher, he stayed up right for an age, hardly a sign of a soft chin.

Apart from an initial knockdown in the first few seconds of the first fight, he took his licks off of Tyson on his feet. Lewis could not deck him.

Bruno had an excellent chin, he just lacked natural survival techniques.

As for who was better; Bruno or Williams; I edge to Bruno slightly, he was a lot more consistant and always in condition, Williams has lot more natural talent, but a lack of confidence in his own abilities and IMO laziness, sometimes hinder him.

Yup agreed 100% Lewis is an example of a fighter who had a weak chin, one punch and it was all over. At least with Bruno it was one punch, then drops arms and takes 10 more punches, then all over

Danny Williams has a lot of talent but is probably one of the most inconsistent fighters out there today. When he fought lastnite against that German fella, he caught him wit a flash knockdown in the first n den fell asleep until the fight was stopped because of a cut. Bruno vs Williams, no doubt the man who nearly had Tyson on the canvas in their first fight would dispose of Williams inside the distance. On the other hand Danny has a lot of improving to do and in the future i may change my mind.

I already mentioned this in another thread, but I really don't give much credence to Tyson's knee giving out against Williams. I saw a fighter continue to fight for two rounds with a broken ankle once who refused to let the doctor stop the fight til he was a sitting duck. Williams beat a Tyson that probably everyone here felt would make Williams a one round victim. Tyson just didn't have it any more.

That said, I voted for Williams based on his win over Tyson plus the fact he held up til the late rounds against Vitali. Just explaining my reasoning it doesn't mean I am right,

Bruno - Not only IMO did he possess more skill than Danny Williams but he also had somethings which i think Williams is lacking and they are heart and self belief

i like both these fighters, in the quest to be world champ the have both bit more then they can chew which shows good heart. dannys a nice guy most of the time, he's got a decent level of skill and takes a good punch as well as having one

franks a good guy to, big, strong and musles the size of mountines, if he had holyfields chin and heart he would have seriosly hurt alot of guys ( thankfully he didn't ) he only ever lost to world champs

    frank to win by ko
