I can beat khan-colin
Scotland didn't qualify for the World Cup but Colin Bain reckons he will lift his nations spirit by becoming the first man to defeat boxing superstar Amir Khan at the Millennium Stadium on July 8 live on ITV1.
The Glaswegian hardman is confident he can beat the Olympic Silver Medallist and give his fellow Scots something to cheer about - even if England have made it to the following day's World Cup Final.
"Amir is a great boxer with loads of talent but I'm well up for the fight and knowing that it's an England v Scotland match up televised live to millions of viewers on ITV will spur me on to a fabulous win for all of Scotland," said patriotic Bain.
"We might not have made it to the World Cup but I will give Scottish fans a reason to party by beating Khan,"
"As a proud Scot it would be a disaster if England got anywhere near the final, but it will be even worse if I lose to Khan so I won't be taking a backward step in the ring. The Tartan Army may not be shaking up the world in Germany, but I will be when I take on Khan."
With only one loss in 11 fights, 27-year-old Bain will appear outside of Scotland for the first time but is relishing the prospect of boxing in front of a huge crowd in Cardiff.
He added, "This is the big one for me and I can make a name for myself on the world stage by beating the biggest name in boxing."
Khan against Bain will feature as special attraction on a mouth-watering six-title fight card at the Millennium Stadium headlined by the heavyweight grudge re-match between Danny Williams and Matt Skelton.
