Default Some interesting news in the Heavyweight division...

In a shocker that I forgot...Joe Mesi is fighting again on the U.S. television circuit tonight by way of Canada. I find this disgusting...but oh well...I'll cover it. He might as well be fighting me. The guy he's fighting has 3 wins, 7 losses, & 1 knockout.

Also...November the 11th, 2006 Wlad Klitschko fights Shannon Briggs...I actually like that fight! Anywho...up comes the fight...just a few minutes away...

    Check out the DRBR:

Is Joe Mesi a novelty fighter, or a Journeyman, or a guy with a beefed up record of fighting nobodys? He never seems to fight anyone but always seems to be a favorite of boxing analysts and commentators. Seeing i am so far away, can someone explain his popularity. The Briggs Vs Klitschko i think would be good to watch.

mesi was just getting popular in 04, and he was fun to watch, his fights were starting to all be televised, he beat a few decent names, but he looked like a complete amatuer tonight

Shannon Briggs has a nice chance. Hes a stong big guy with a good chin. If he can walk through wlad's jabs and land a couple big shots, we all know what will happen to wlad. I predictts Brigs KO

If you, my fellow fans, will turn your boxing clocks back in your minds to 1998 or 1999...the very same style destroyed Briggs in either 5-6 rounds.

Lewis devastated him...Wlad's got more power IWO...so this should be a beating...but Brigg's is a different man now...he's got the big head from doing a bit of bum beating lately.

We shall see...should be fun though.

Briggs did manage to hurt lewis though so he could cause Wlad's chin a problem.

I think the big thing with the Briggs/Wlad match up would be if Briggs can get in there early and put a couple of hard shots on Wlad. If he can do that, I think that Wlad will get tentative about what he throws which would give Briggs a better chance.

I agree for the most part but...LL had/has a lot more guts that Wladdy has shown so far...where LL fought to stay up Wlad is all to obliging to go down...and while the LL style beat Briggs up pretty good it was the LL heart that got him through some trouble...Either way this matchup has people talking which is a good thing for the $$$ men...

This certainly seems like a good fight. Is Briggs going to be continuing his bumfights series of fighting every month up to the fight with Vlad Klitshko?

It's certainly one of the best matchups available in what seems to be a worn-down, coughing, running on gas fumes jalopy of a division, and might bring some sort of spark to it. Klitshko will take it from my POV, but as another guy mentioned Briggs has a good chin, so Vlad better make sure he prepares properly, and doesn't get complacent.

Briggs isn't going to walk throug Wlad's jabs...those things are like jackhammers......Wlad will KO Briggs inside of 6rds.....Wlad is at the top of his game now....
It feels good to be back home.
