Default UFC fights too short? Too bloody?

Remember the arlovski/Buentello fight? 15seconds. people booed.

Also, the bood of the edwards fight.

So, my radical idea, and many will tel me I'm nuts....

perhaps add some padding to the gloves. What about 6oz? 8ox? Keep the mma stayle glove (obviously) but pad 'em up a bit. Fights would be less bloody and last longer for the fans.

There really is no reason why a larger would hinder or change the mma aspect of the sport.

    Thoughts?

Sure.. the blood was caused by elbows, more than fists, so the 6 ouncers wouldn't offer much refuge there. Also, in grappling, the larger gloves would prove a major hindrance. Even light gloves are somewhat of a hindrance for pure grappling. The blood situation was gruesome, and a major negative for a highly publicized combat event -- something anyone not really in love with mma would find too attractive....

yeah, I was just thinking about the elbows issue. point taken.

they've godda do something though. there's no way that's worth $40. I used to LOVE mma, but I'm actually getting a bit bored with it.

how bout shorter rounds....3minutes. this way if it goes to the ground the guy has a better chance of being saved by the bell. AND, with more beels comes more stand-up, more stand-up euals more energy for the fighters and thus longer fights. let's face it... 5minutes of ground and pounds is tearfully boring. even that retard chris leben said that to d-white in TUF1 after losing to kOS.

I think it's quite simple.... If a head is streaming blood like a tap is attached to the guys head then STOP THE BLOODY (no pun intended) FIGHT!!

Who was the really good standup fighter who knocked out Chris Leben within a minute? Not sure when the fight occured. I thought his name was Silva....

Perhaps if they didn't wear gloves again the fights would last longer because they wouldn't go for a quick knockout, because of fear of breaking their hands. (although it will never happen) I don't think they should have shorter rounds, in fact it would be a lot better if they did away with the rounds all together.

doesn't bother me, but it surely bothers a lot of people and the sport will never be recognized as anything but brutal or barbaric (even moreso that boxing) until that aspect is solved.

I was thinking of this after watching that one. If I'm pounding on a guy and I cut him, NO FREAKING WAY I'm staying on him. I'm not risking my life for any purse. The alst thing I want on me is another guy's blood, ESPECIALLY if I might be cut.

I think they check them to make sure they don't have HIV or anything like that. (Or at least I hope they do... )

I think people want to see those knock out punches and lots of blood. I remember watching earlier UFCs and hearing the crowd chanting for blood. Isn't the brutality of the sport what makes MMA what it is? Most people don't like watching strategic battles on the ground- they want to see ground and pound.

If youre scared to see blood or it bothers you then dont watch fights. and as for the elbow usage, in pride elbows are banned

no...the only thing I don't like is the fact it went to Rounds...loved the no time limit or 20 minute straight fights of old.....
It feels good to be back home.
