According to a report out by Ronnie Nathanielsz in the manilastandardtoday.com, TOP Rank promoter Bob Arum claims that Manny Pacquiao will continue to fight for his outfit, and not with Oscar de la Hoya.
Nathanielsz further reports that as early as last week, Viva Sports/Standard Today learned from a reliable source, who had spoken to Bob Arum, that Arum would not sue Pacquiao for having violated a specific condition of his contract for the rubber match with Erik Morales on Nov. 18. The condition prevents Pacquiao from signing up with
any other promoter until after his fight with Morales.
Nathanielsz reported the information was relayed to former Team Pacquiao member Moy Lainez and boxing patron Tony Aldeguer, who has a promotional contract for his fighters with Golden Boy Promotions. The source said Arum told him that he would continue to promote Pacquiao. The source also indicated that instead of suing Pacquiao, it would most likely be Golden Boy since they had already given Pacquiao a signing bonus of $300,000.
