Thread: Last friday

Just incase anybody wanted to know
the british cruiserwieght title was on the line last friday (vacant), vacated by hobson who now has the wbu cruiserweight title.
a bloke from my hometown called lee swaby fought john keaton for the vacant title..
lee was ahead at the end of the sixth and was stopped at the end of the seventh by a minute long barrage of punches when mickey vann stepped in...
its a real shame that swaby got stopped as he was ahead on the cards and he could have stayed ahead and out of trouble for the distance but just got pinned on the ropes..
its unlucky for the guy as his record now holds 22 wins and that was his 16th loss.. with so many losses it would take him a fair while to gain another shot at the british title and its probably not worth the trouble at his age... but still fair play to keaton hes a tough bloke all the best to him!

bracebridge in lincoln, duno if you ever checked the place, there is more for fitness cos its an insane workout there! and plus theres good sparring there
and i go a place where we work mostly on sparring and technique etc with a real good trainer at weekends, used to train a bloke called tony dowling who was a pretty good british cruiserweight!

shit son, thats close ... i help out with some boxing classes in sleaford on weekends!!

not sure how close city of god is thou...

hey..yes i know the gym, near the fire station up northgate.

well i live at the bottom of town, near aldi, ive got a few good contacts in the pro game and im certainly good for medical equipment if you need any....

i work with anaesthetics. im also a qualified amateur judge, not sure if im any use to you.

oh nice one its been going for about maybe two three months or so and it should be soon enough any week now that we sort out a ring for the place as its all priced up and such, then they should be stepping up the training to more hours and a couple more times a week!!
lot of young lads have been coming and going and were starting to get a fairly safe solid crowd coming , though theres been a fair few blokes and young lads come and go, not really dedicate to coming...
so once the ring is set up the head trainer will be looking to get a liscence to train amatuer trainers..
which wont be a problem since he used to train professionals...
and then we'll be going from there getting some of the young lads liscenced have some fights and such .. its looking pretty good you know! sounds excellent if your a boxing fan and a qualified judge, i mean its quite local to you so should you hear of anything going on in sleaford you should get in touch if your interested! ...
i dont suppose you know any young lads or blokes that are interesting in training to box, as far as im aware theres quite a big group of young lads jus hanging round the streets and causing trouble in sleaford who might aswell be doing something worth while with theyr weekends and come learn to box lol... :P
but yeh sounds interesting !
