Yer mate he called it a day a while back. He was too old imo he did well to get where he was. I remeber watching him on the hatton-maussa undercard and he wasnt that impressive. He couldnt have done anything else in the cruiser devison it was all over at that stage. Any of the champs would at this stage of his carrer easily ko him.

Give him his props though, there havn't been many fighters who have come back from the brink in more fights than him.

That cat definitely had 9 lives, shame he used them all up

The Rothman fight was brutal and brilliant and typical Carl Thompson. Really unlucky to be competing with the likes of Hamed for the limelight. Any success he has got out of boxing is thoroughly deserved.

Yeah and dont forget big wins over Eubank twice and Haye.

Haye had him all over the place in the first couple rounds as did Eubank in their first fight.

    But he keeps on coming.

I think of Carl and the next word I come up with is arsehole. He had the most I think Ive ever seen plus he was an utter Gentleman, in his retirement I wish him all he wishes for himself. Thanks for the memorys, there were plenty.

I love Carl Thompson to bits. Very exciting fighter, who can knock you out or be knocked out; sort of like a British Tommy Hearns, but not as good!!!!

Although, I love to see his fights, he is too old now & doesn't need to hang around, getting beaten by younger guys.
