Default Hopkins Vs Toney at 160

What do you guy's think, I believe that Toney would have taken this battle prime on prime, I believe that he would be the more powerful man. Skill would be pretty much even, Hopkins would have better defense.

I agree with all of it except for the defense, I think there even in that category as well. Different defensive styles but equally effective.

I agree about 50%, I think most people are misled because the size of Toney's head, it looks like he is wearing a helmet, and he can take a hell of a punch, nobody in the lower weight classes could hurt him so it made his defense look better than it really was, but his defense was above average, Hopkins had nothing that could hurt Toney.

In his prime James had an amazing defense it didn't just look good, it was good, and the punches that did hit him were dissipated largely by his head movement.

So I am assuming that you would choose Toney in the fight because you did not specify.

i say a draw too close to call

but actually this would be razor thin fight whoever won the decision it would be controversial so i think it depends who judges are because i really think it would be that close

I wish this fight happend about 10 years ago .

They both got outpointed by a prime Roy Jones . Toney actually got floored but I think he has quicker hands than B-Hop and more power . Todays version is obvioulsy fat and slow but around the time he fought Barkley he was a quick guy with classy defence . May not have been the defensive genuis that B-hop is but his reflexes and timing made up for that , he wasnt defensivley minded like the Philly fighter , so if this fight ever came off Bernard would be the guy cricling and Toney coming forward . Saying that Bernard used to be more of a pressure fighter back in teh day when he had stamina . As he got older his style evolved just as Toneys had . Prime for prime though its hard to separate these guys . Would have been a great fight

I just think that Toney would have taken it too B-Hop, maybe even knocked him out.
