it's just cos he's been KO'd twice that people reckon he's got a shit chin. but to be fair both punches that knocked him out were good shots. hardly powderpuff
both oliver mccall and rahman had to land monster punches to knock him out, and then lewis had a rematch with em both straight away and knocked em both out to even the score. eat that
I remember here in Canada the knock against him early on after the Olympics was that he had a weak chin, and couldn't punch.
Funny how those impressions seem to stay with you for so long even tho' they seem foolish now!
People all seemed to say he wouldn't make it as a top heavy!
Boy were they wrong!
The most important thing about taking a punch is seeing it coming, the anticipation. There's no question that Lewis has a good chin.
Remember the good old days, we miss you Marco!
Man i remember how painful tht Tua fight was to watch. You knew that he had the tools to beat Lennox but he held back for 12 rounds.
Psalm 144: Blessed be the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle
The reason for him having that rap against him is not because he was KOed twice but because both times it was by a single punch and he truly looked out of it each time. Watching that video would lead you wonder how that ever happened but the bottom line is it did. I wouldn't say he has a glass jaw but I think it might be less than average.

he was soooo close to going down when Vitali tagged him...man was that close!!! but a lesser chin would have hit canvas.....Originally Posted by yoitsdan

Not a single one of those punches Tua threw landed clean. During that first punch both feet leave the ground.
That second guy... I don't think I've seen him before.
IMO, his chin was never the problem. It was underestamating his opponent's that was the problem.
I actually think Lewis had a pretty solid chin. He got caught cold by Rahman and McCall. Ali got caught cold by Henry Cooper and was only saved by the bell that sounded immediately after and through Angelo Dundee's clever delaying tactics with the stitching of Ali's gloves which absolutely saved Ali as he was out of it.
And Lewis did get up against McCall.......
