Default Delahoya amd Mayweather..is the trash talk hidden message???

    Here's the article link http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/21/sp...in&oref=slogin

    But here's some exerps

“You’re going down!” one woman, who hoped that De La Hoya would sign a poster she had created for him, shouted at Mayweather.

Over the next week, the boxers are to repeat the ritual 10 more times.

He ripped off his Technicolorwarm-up jacket and T-shirt to demonstrate his stellar shape, forcing De La Hoya to unbutton his suit jacket and shirt to flaunt his pecs and abs

Leonard Ellerbe, said De La Hoya had “laid down"

When De La Hoya rose, ending a requisite period of staring straight ahead to ignore Mayweather’s stick

Mayweather bowed eight times while chuckling

“When I touch you, you’ll hurt for a week,” De La Hoya promised

    Perhaps Meowza was right...

Well Im damn sure Pretty boy is sure as hell gonna feel every one of Oscars power Punches. Shit as far as im concerned about Floyds power at 154 he aint no force to be reckon with, he wont have no power to hurt Oscar. Yeah yeah there Floyds speed But oscar is gonna make up for that by stayin on Floyd the whole time nothin but preasure preasure preasure. Floyds gonna end up going out on his ass cuz I know Oscar sure as hell aint.

i hope mayweather keeps trying his trash talk bollocks. i know he's only doing it to sell tickets (like the gatti fight) but it will piss delahoya off and get him as up for it as he was against mayorga after his trash aswell. i know mayorga is no pretty boy floyd but the same logic applies. delahoya has got bigger balls than floyd and mayweathers tip tap point scoring punches shouldnt cause oscar too many problems. i realy hope with a passion that oscar beats floyd. whether he will though i dunno/

    I think you're underestimating Floyd's power.
I agree he doesn't have the power to knock Oscar out but that doesn't mean Oscar will be able to walk through them like it's nothing either.
If he had no power, why don't all his opponents bullrush him for the easy victory?
Because they don't like what's coming back.
His quick accurate punches you never see hurt more mentally than most people's punches.
When he is constantly tagging you with counters every time you miss, his opponents soon realize Floyd's racking up a hell of a lot of points while they're just wasting energy out there.
And with Oscar's size, he's got a lot more body to hit for Floyd with his accuracy and a lot more chances to slip and be elusive against the larger fighter. I always liked Floyd better against larger fighters for that reason.

While i agree that Floyd's ability to counter quickly with his speed can frustrate an opponent...it is made a ton easier when he fights slow fighters like Gatti. Floyd will not carry power over to this weight and i'm curious to see how is speed is affected. Oscar is a highly skilled, strong, and iron chinned fighter. At this point Oscar really just need to focus on his conditioning. He needs to come into this fight in great shape and have chip on his shoulder...if Floyd talking smack motivates him...that is fine.

I'm interested to see what Floyd weighs for this fight. If I were him, I would come in around 148 or 149. He's not going to win this fight with power, he needs to win with speed and defense. He should try to stay at the weight that allows him to move and defend. In my opinion, weighing in at 154 would be a mistake.
