Default Tribute to the linear heavyweight champs

Hello saddoboxing Forum. This is my first post and wanted to introduce myself by giving a tribute to the now lost heavyweight linear champions.

To me one of the biggest reasons the heavyweight division is in such a mess is the lack of a clear champion and the only thing that could save it is a tournament to declare an undisputed king and the beginning of a new era of linear champs.

So in memory of the last era of linear champs here it is the complete list. Sorry for those who are not hear, technically you were never a Hevyweight Champion in my eyes.

After Marciano left undefeated the heavyweight title was vacated and Floyd Patterson faught Archie Moore and knocked him out in the fifth to become the youngest heavyweight champion at the time.

    Patterson
    Johansson
Patterson (First Heavyweight to Regain the title)
    Liston
    Ali
    Frazier
    Foreman
    Ali
    L. Spinks (Known as the worst Heavyweight champ in history)
    Ali (First 3time Heavyweight Champ)
    Holmes
    M. Spinks
    Tyson (Youngest Heavyweight Champ)
    Douglas
    Holyfield
    Bowe
    Holyfield
    Moorer
    Foreman (Oldest Heavyweight Champ)
    Briggs
    Lewis
    Rahman
    Lewis

    Congratulations True Heavyweight Champions...

    Aite Rookie, nice entry.
Bit depressing, but hey! its the heavyweight division eh...

Anyway, have a on me and welcome to Saddoboxing, hope you can stick around.

P.S Unless your refering to liner champs only (which you probably are) John Tate was by far the worst heavyweight champ in history

I'd argue that a prime 'Neon Leon' would have outworked and outhustled this overweight plodding Briggs !!

    Taking it back from Patterson:
    Marciano
    Walcott
    Charles
    Louis
    Braddock
    Baer
    Carnera
    (who was here?)
    Tunney
    Dempsey
    Willard
    Johnson
    Burns
    (who was here)
    Fitzimmons
    Corbett
    Sullivan

This is true even thaough Foreman was striped of one of his titles (can't remember which) and he was not really considered a champ by most. No one had defeated him yet until Briggs
