Default Let's put Barrera v Marquez into perspective.....

It was a very good fight but was pretty tame imo for the first 5/6 rounds with the only real trading going off in the last 10 seconds of each round with each fighter trying to snatch the descision,Barrera was blatantly robbed in the 7th and the judges were way off in the final scoring.
Marquez deserved the victory by maybe 2 clear rounds and anyone who had Barrera ahead is having a f*cking joke with us
Marquez took the fight to Barrera in most rounds and definately won fair and square.
Rematch would be a better fight imo with both going toe to toe from the off
The recent fight between Graham Earl and Michael Katsidis had miles more War like action, knockdowns and twists and turns in only 5 rounds, absolutely no question about it.
    Gotta be a rematch

Barrera was also a lucky man not to be disqualified in the 7th but what goes around comes around so the failure to score a KO etc seems justifiable in hindsight.

Barrera hit him when he was down because you dont stop until the ref gets in there...the ref was picking his nose...

I agree to an extent. It wasn't the wars that we've witnessed ala Morales v. Barrera, but it was a real good fight. I think Barrera should have gotten the nod and the decision.

Totally agree and firmly believe that Hatton v Castillo will be more of a War
Bemuses me that people are touting this as fight of the year

Hey, I look at this way...Marquez was due for a decision to go his way, I'm not gonna hate him for the judges folly. We should be talking about how good a fight it was and not the scoring and 7th round. There were some great exchanges where they both connected simultaneously..great slo motion shots on the replays

    hahaha
I also think that there should be an enquiry into the way those judges scored the bout.

Barrera was talking about this being his last year in boxing. If the rematch is gonna happen, I hope its in Mexico. Anywhere but Vegas, Alamodome maybe. It didnt look like the place was too packed either, the first two fights hardly any people in the rich people seats...whats up with that bs? Barrera was talking about leaving Golden Boy, lol I hope so. If Barrera retires Marquez should rematch Paquiao and Chris John, not in Indonesia.
